rswyan Mr Redbird came by today minus all of his feathers must assume Mrs Redbird left him but took him to the cleaners.
... no kiddin ?

Figures I suppose ...

Deer are very active now
Saw Bambi & Co last night myself ... they seemed in quite a hurry.

... as is our stupid squirrel who instead of gathering nuts eats everyone he can find.
No accounting for taste I guess ...

Winter for your neck of the woods will be especially brutal so gather your nuts
Sure are plenty of 'em this year ... noticed while I was doin' the leaf rodeo ...

54 this morning and rain/showers to last thru lunch time. High later today to reach 62 rain has been light but streets are wet. The ten day weather forecast shows snow here by next weekend but that's the weather channel on my phone so I doubt that but the snow is coming just more like Thanksgiving. The people in New England are going to get hammered at least once before big storm around Thanksgiving

Good Morning

Drinking second cup of coffee. 38° with clouds this morning. Heading to 50° with rain and drizzle all day. Going to be one of those stay inside days. Always something to do in the shop. Will have to wander out there to decide what to do.
Good Morning All.

Lynch Road Assembly in the 1970's, (Chrysler). Connor Avenue Stamping, 1979, 1980. West side, Clark Street, Cadillac Motor Car Company. Then in several plants until 2008.
Spent time in many of those plants. Company I was field tech for built balancing machines and tire and wheel mounting equipment.

a warm 59 degrees here, going up to 72 in hopefully some rain this afternoon and tonight. System looks pretty weak so far, most of the rain is up in VA, but I hope we get something. I'd take a measly .25.......
Buppies, please steer a few drops off to the right and down here please. Actually let's make a deal. I'll get the rain all week, and you get it on the weekends when you aren't paving. Oh. Wife would not be happy with that.

boy all this talk of bad winter weather. So now what, I have to buy a snowblower for coastal NC???? I gave mine away
before I moved with great delight.

Well, electrician coming next week to install an interconnect box for my portable gen to at least run the critical circuits.
I've been wondering if I'm stupid for not just installing a whole house gen, like I had before, but that's just one more expense added to many,
which you all are clearly witnessing...so for this first winter I'm going to stick with my 7500 gas gen plugged in.
Power was lost here for about a week in the last hurricane that gave this place a direct hit. Flooded the entire waterway system pushing water into areas
no one was prepared for. boy did I study that historical flood map before buying this property, and it's nowhere close.

wonder if the Chonda engine in my new Honeywell generator will run for a week straight. Probably if I let it cool off for a few hours and run synthetic oil in it.
I will need to fill up several extra gas cans with gasoline, which I can purchase locally without ethanol, and premium too, and that with some Stabil should be good for a year. Like gasoline used to be...

off to measure out my new orchard and put little red flags where I want the trees to go. Then I'm going to take the lawn mower and mow a path along the pins cut very short. And then I'm not sure. One set of directions says plow the whole field under while the other says just go out and dig the holes.
The latter for sure. Tomorrow I go talk to the local ag agent and hopefully get educated on local pollinization requirements and fertilizers, etc.
What was really interesting was while I was at the local Verizon Wireless store, the manager overheard my conversation talking about building a fruit orchard, and
he zoomed right over to start asking questions. He is a beekeeper and head of the local beekeeper club, and they have members who would love to put a hive near an orchard. Going to ask the ag agent about that for sure. Seems interesting on the surface.

Yep, raining here and 55. Should get up to 68 and windy and rain may stick around all day.

We have the carpet installers coming back today. The new carpet we installed a few weeks ago is getting replaced already. Fortunately at no cost (after along heart to heart talk with the manager). It is a textured carpet with very small loops woven in, and they started pulling out. We love the carpet, but can't deal with gluing down loops every day. So had to move stuff out of the rooms again last night. This new carpet does not have any loops. Fingers crossed.

sorry you went through this. sounds like you got a bad batch of carpet.
hope the new carpet is just perfect and worth all the effort.

Thanks. It was our second choice carpet, and a very close second, so I think we'll like it. But this is nothing like your reno activity...so much going on at once. I know it will be wonderful when you are finished (I know, finished is a relative term) and totally settled.

Good Morning. 0635, mostly cloudy, 56F with 93% humidity. Forecast high of 83F with 50% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 45F tonight. Today is our only chance of rain until next weekend. Wouldn't mind seeing some showers.

I'm running to town later to do the week's shopping. I'm not working tonight and Margie let me know it wouldn't break her heart if I went later in the day and stopped by the Wharf Express for fried shrimp with red beans and rice as one of the sides. Usually my day off is the one day a week I cook a sit down type supper for us. You think she might be saying something about my cooking?

Everyone have a good day.
