Good morning all. 46F this morning and another 1.1 inches in the rain gauge. Mostly cloudy today high of 64F. Minimal rain chance for next two days then another storm hits. Wondering when I will dry out enough to mow. Bike ride and drain clean-out at the rental today.

Sound's like some good bargain shopping. Don't tell my wife, or I'll be driving cross country. She cannot pass up nursery bargains. Every time she goes into town, some stray plant or plants follow her home.

and back at Lowes this morning for more, actually some mums I want to make a garden out of at the end of the lane.
Lot of the same bushes I paid 6-10 bucks for were there too, at 15-25 dollars. But honestly, the Lowes stuff was nicer, fuller, clearly had more professional care.
But I like dealing with the locals, and I know the plants are growing in the same dirt, or almost, and no one from Lowes was there with a bottle of their homemade pear sauce for sure...:D

this is a pretty big property from a landscaping standpoint and nothing has been done here in years. So I'm out like a garden painter with a pretty clean canvas, plus the nice existing trees and shrubs of course, but it's time to paint some color in there.
and boy oh boy is it easy to dig. As long as I don't hit roots, the digging is just easy as can be. Going to get the phd auger on when i get help from my neighbor. Too ungainly to put on by myself, not without hurting myself. It's a wobbler and tries to go everywhere and is a pinched hand or finger just waiting to happen trying to do it myself. I guess there is some wisdom with age. And scars on my body already from doing enough stupid things.

Nice haul from the nursery ... if those are the blue-green hostas, make sure you plant them where they won't get much - if any - sun thanks, they are going in down the driveway on the right, full shade. I hope they reproduce like crazy and move back into the woods.

56 this morning headed to 63 today. Spotty rain off and on all day. Warm front coming thru tonight then rain chances increase for next couple of days.

Have to get ahold of a buddy to help unload and assemble new table saw. Picked up a new Rigid cast iron contractor saw. Weight about 250#. But first must fix tire on wife's ride. Was hissin last night while shopping. Wet roads let you find slow leaks.

Nice and sunny here, a little cool, in the 50's. Got some chores to do, after I finish helping the wife out at the shop. Have a good one!

Steady rain now, poured off and on last night. Wet, muddy, sloppy, been raining almost nonstop I've 24/hours.

I've got my girls for holiday weekend.

Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts.

Be well all,
David

81 degrees and blue sky sunny; four hours of digging and I'm tuckered out.
Lot of roots out there near the end of the lane. I had a pair of compound clippers and I was clipping away.
But I got 'er dug. Little planting areas for the mums that is.
And of course that warmed me up for about four more runs back to my rolling nursery stock and by then it was 1pm and
that was enough. My right hand is throbbing away telling me maybe a bit too much. Had to wash the wrist wrap it got so muddy so when that comes out of the dryer, back on it goes. Funny how just that little pressure makes things so much better. Thankfully. I'll wear a lot of silly things before I start taking painkillers.

Rs, what are we going to do with you?
yeah, like an Easter egg, you snuck it in that pic, just to see who would bite.
Thanks - good eye
you're welcome. :D
