After I got it tacked up I used the pipe jig/rollers to do the final welds ... worked out good ... was nice to be able to get all the way around the pipe while sitting comfortably on a bar stool 
I bolted the base of the roller/bender to the top plate of the stand to minimize distortion as it was being welded:
Then clamped a piece of 3/4" plate to the bottom plate on the stand to do the same for it:
I used most of that 3/4" plate for the base plate on the stand for the vise ... probably way overkill, but it was the only thing I had left ... other than a chunk of 1" plate ...
At any rate, it should make the vise stand less prone to tipping over if/when it is unbolted from the floor.
