Does anyone ever find missing parts off their tractor?

We use one of our 8ns to move the chicken/turkey coop forward one length every day. Those darned turkeys will lose the pins out of the drawbar, and last year took the radiator cap right off. Sometimes we find them, but often with the rototiller. My dad's 64 and we tell him when he retires we'll buy him a metal detector and he can walk around finding all the stuff we've lost.

I've lost some pins etc. and usually dont find them.

However I did eventually find my glasses in the pasture. Ruined of course. My daughter found my cell phone a few months after I lost it at her farm. Again, ruined. Except I was able to use the memory card to retrieve a few hundred photos.

My son had the drain plug on the HST come out while he was clearing weeds. Luckily he was able to follow the trail of oil back to the big puddle and find it. I've lost a few small nuts and some hair pins before.....never to be found.

I lost a gas cap off the zero turn once while mowing. I smelled gas and looked back and the cap was gone. I figured it had to have happened when mowing around evergreen bush as those are the only bushes I get close enough to that actually touch the machine.

But, I have over 100 evergreen bushes.

I found it after about 15 minutes of backtracking. You can't imagine a grown man so happy to find a small, round plastic gas cap!
