One question please! Is there anything wrong with the welders or is it just a sticker/certification issue?. Do they not work, are they fire hazards, are they unsafe to operate? I haven't read anything about that here!

Scooby,
I did not admit to moving it back. I said it was moved back. I think this points to an inability on your part, in general, to comprehend and discriminate/parse what was said and not said, either that or an outright willingness to say things that aren't so just to inflame and libel. I did not move it. 1) if you read the document, no fraud or intent to fraud was indicated 2) No where has Everlast CA itself applied anything, you are making that up completely. The document does not cite that. The factory applied them and if you will read the statement on our forum, that is documented as to how that started 3) I guess many years is open to interpretation, on many products is as well. 4) We also have laid out what happened to in the release. Voluntary recalls don't happen unless there is full cooperation.

A word of advice, this doesn't concern you unless you initiated the complaint...so, all you are doing is ruining your credibility either way.

You moved it.. Oleg moved it... Duncan moved it.. whatever. Somebody there was shuffling things around. AFAIK the individual who had his posting privileges revoked from the entire forum for broaching this subject still has not had them re-instated.

I can read just fine thanks.

Voluntary recall means that they had you and you did that to mitigate, dont try to spin it otherwise. The police would rather reach a solution like this rather than escalate to charges. That said I suspect that many will not be happy with your credit offer.

You like to brag how many industries are giving up red, blue and yellow and going to everlast. Well if that were true (and I still ascertain it isnt in my experience) then you just caused a lot of headaches for those industries. Using unapproved equipment is highly frowned upon by government inspectors and can result in significant fines to those companies using said equipment.

Ive heard from you before that everlast welders are different from the competition because "they are your design" and you supervise all steps of manufacture and have superb QC. Now you say that the fraudulent labeling was all the factory's fault and your so called QC missed it. Its a nice attempt at deflection. So what is it? Incompetent factory that doesnt respect trademarks and intellectual property or incompetent QC? Or are you throwing the factory under the bus because you deliberately allowed unapproved devices to be sold in Canada because you didnt want to incur the cost of certification?

Oh it concerns me.This reenforces my opinions of neverlast and is precisely why I recommend other brands. Frankly I couldnt care less what you or any other posters think about my credibility. Its more than a bit rich for someone whose company has been proven to lack credibility to be questioning mine.

This is a Canadian issue. There is a perceived potential issue since the units did not fall under CSA eyes officially. CSA is a private organization but in CA they do things differently at this point between private organizations and government...From a conversation with Duncan this morning, one of out of two or three issues were cited (apparently CSA conducted their own investigation in this matter from what I gather from a brief convo. this morning for more details) was the plug, and the potential threat it posed to customers installing their own(though there is not standard for a plug for the 250ex one of the mentioned units because it is both 1 and 3 phase 240) This type stuff constitutes the perceived shock threat as it was relayed to me...

Again, you are not concerned with the truth or the facts, and do not think things through. Yes we have made those claims as we have become more involved with the factory...which increased even more as a direct result in many cases of this issue I am sure over two years ago now. We rely on the factory to complete certain things and put them into final form. We have to. We cannot be there every step in the process, though we are now there for most of them now. Again, you have failed to read and comprehend what was and wasn't said in regards to when it was said.

You should also review the use of the word "you". I don't own or operate Evelast or Everlast CA.

Not a misplaced sticker; it's about applying an unearned sticker, one that implies the device meets certain specifications and safety standards.

I see, the Canadian gov't doesn't want people to install their own plugs so the owners of these welders are supposed to smash them with sledge hammers and throw them in the trash? Sounds like something the US gov't will make us do soon also!:D

Oh now you are involved... before you were merely importers of the same equipment as everybody else? Right.. got it.

You say you do not own or operate everlast, but you sure are their corporate face.

I will be away from this thread this weekend, and if things go as planned traveling. I won't receive updates if I dont' go back and check everytime...so if anyone has legitimate questions, rather than moot points, or otherwise inane comments, pm me, as it will forward them on to my mobile and I'll try to give you a call if you are in the US. If you aren't please call Everlast CA...they know all the details. I don't know all the answers about this...yet. I've tried to be transparent as I can about what I know.
