About the tilt trailer a couple posts up - maybe it's just me, but I think that I'd notice in my peripheral vision that the image in the inside rear view mirror turned to solid black of the trailer box. Of course I tend to flick a glance there fairly often for situational awareness anyway.

Naahhh.... he was an aerodynamics engineer, working on downforce options for the trailer !

Between breathing, and yapping on the phone, some drivers don't have too many cpu cycles left over... :mur:

It raises peoples dump trailers while they are going down the road








I think it is a photoelectric sensor.

he was over his weight limit ... raising the bed turns it into a wing and puts lift on the trailer, lessening the load and makes him legal again ....

I worked for a commercial builder/site/concrete contractor as a superintendent years ago. Once a month we would have a superintendents/prooject managers meeting, where we could discuss problems, concerns, ect. At one they gave us a "oh $#!+ list" of some of the really bad things we as a company had done over the years. One of the top items where dump trucks pulling off with the bed raised and taking out over head lines. Another item was a JD-450 dozer sliding off the low boy transport because the driver didn't bother chaining it down because he was only moving it like a mile or twoo.

Daddy, what does this button with no label do?

He either had it raised to get the rest of the dirt to come out or he has poor brakes and is using the dump trailer wind resistance to help slow the truck down.
