Kioti DK45 4x4, Ford 3000
Hi everyone, I have a 2003 DK45 4x4 and have owned it for about 5 years. I have had absolutely no problems at all with this tractor, until recently. Over the last couple of months, the hydraulics have gotten slower and weaker every time I have used it. I checked the fluid and topped off the fluid with standard tractor hydraulic fluid from TSC. This made absolutely no difference in the speed or strength of the hydraulics. The steering and 3pt and loader are almost not working at all now. Any idea of what could be causing this?? Is there a filter or screen that I should be cleaning????

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks Ron...

Just changed the oil with TSC oil. Can you point me to where the filters are located. Once I find them I can change them.
thanks for your help.

Mine are on the right side in front of the rear tire. Do you have a owners manual?

Ron is your tractors transmission Hydrostatic or the Geared model?.. If the Geared model, it will only have the one hydraulic filter, the hydraulic filter towards the front of the right rear tire, in a vertical position. If you have never changed it, (and you did not say how many how many hours you have on the tractor). Be prepared, it will be "heck" to get off. Have a chain wrench handy. You need to go to the dealer and get that filter and an owners manual.

There are several things that can cause weak hyd.

As stated above, check and change all filters.

If the pump is good, you are going to shove fluid through all valves.

Some basic troubleshooting, such as, can you cause the cyl to max out and cause the relief valve to activate.

You can pump fluid in a bucket and check volume.

You can install a pressure gage and check the relief pressure.

The best logical action is to eliminate the pump as the weak source by a flow and pressure test to determine if the pump is operating as advertised.

You can check and clean all relief valves.

Check all hoses for deformity.

Check all QD's for correct operation.

My DK45 has gears with clutch and shuttle shift,so I only found one filter. I am going tomorrow morning to the dealer and get a filter. Do you happen to know the NAPA number for the filter in case the dealer doesnt have one in stock????? I live a couple of miles from a NAPA warehouse.
Thanks ron

JJ thanks for the good tips. I'm going to change the filter first, since the tractor has 455hours and the original filter from the factory. That was my bad, I missed that filter in my maintenance schedule. If the filter doesnt fix it, Ill start using your tips. I also ordered a manual for the tractor.
thanks again.

No Ron, I don't, I am not sure NAPA will even have the filter. But your dealer should have one as they are a common item.. Supposed to change the fluid every 400 hours of operation and the filter every 200. How many hours do you have on the machine..?
