One of the sneakiest chick and egg thieves are barn rats or English brown/ wharf rats, whatever you call them, they're death to young chicks and eggs. Dogs other than terriers don't handle them well, we kept several cats for that.

Thomas really cold weather is on the way again around the end of the month maybe colder than before and some snow with it I think. As long as the pool of very warm water exists in coastal waters off Alaska we will continue to get these cold shots contrary to what the weather channel says. Hopefully this advance notice helps

38F cloudy soon rain heavy at times,so far its been good January thaw.

40 degrees as I type and will be cloudy with light rain early then heavier rain mid afternoon.
Stays above freezing tonight so we will lose more snow for sure.

44 and drizzle this AM. I swear these past six months have been wetter than I anticipated. My lawn squishes when I walk over parts of it, and don't you dare step on a mole tunnel. Crazy weather, some are saying a dusting of snow may come tomorrow.

41 and raining this morning this is high for today and rain should be gone by early afternoon. Alberta clipper for tomorrow with some light snow chances for us maybe 1 to 3. Tractor says please snow I want to come out and play

37*F, cloudy with rain expected today changing to snow tonight.

Yesterday's sunshine and high of 44*F gave me the chance to finish clearing the roof. I still had to chop hard with the snow shovel to get through the ice crust on top. PITA :laughing:

After the roof, I went up and down the driveway letting the tire chains chew the ice on top into slush and scooped most of that off with the FEL. It would be a very bad year to be caught without ice chains here. They have been a life saver the past couple of weeks.

Tomorrow morning I go in for a routine colon screening. No food today except for Gatorade.

Got the coffee pot brewing. 48° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 76° with lots of sun all day. Should be a good day to sit on the patio and enjoy a couple of adult beverages.

why do dogs suck eggs?
not to get across the road...
is it like a milkshake or ice cream cone to them?
I understand wild animals to get fed, but if your dog just ate his bowl
of dog food, and saw an egg, would he/she still suck it?
