Where do you carry your gun on your tractor?

Actually I think it's more of just a misunderstanding where people just talk past each other because each can't understand why the other feels the way they do. Each hits the high light talking points and that's it. From then on it's shouting at each other along with being judgmental towards the other.
One side thinks the other is paranoid delusional and the other thinks they're stupid for not being paranoid. And neither really understands the circumstances of the other.

Shrug, it's a debate we're having in this country now, and I iterate THIS country the USA, and that debate is continuous enough without some other foreign fingers stirring the pot. WE don't care how your country handles guns, WE don't care if you can or can't own weapons or how you're allowed access to them. This OUR debate in OUR own sovereign nation.

I don't understand? why do you guys carry a gun? I can see if you're hunting or something but tractor work? seems kind of strange if I knew one of my farm friendly Nabors were carrying.

If you start from the beginning you will see we have already been down this road. I won't question why you choose not to carry please don't question why I do.

<snip> I carried a gun on my job and for a few years only carried in situations in which I thought there was a possibility I might need it. Then one day, I desperately need my gun and I couldn't get to it because I left it in my car.<snip>

I accept that the likelihood of ever needing it for defense against a person is really really low, but it is a risk I am not willing to take.

Meant to ask earlier about the time you desperately needed it; could you say more?

My first response was going to be, "Maybe in the city you feel safer." But then I thought to myself, nope, it's safer here in the country. Nonetheless I still desire to protect myself and family from the miscreants who are EVERYWHERE and feel they have title to the things *I* work hard for. Even in our small, rural county there are home invasions and armed robberies by those who desire to get something for nothing. Besides, I might get hungry while out in the field and need to hunt me a snack.

Long guns basically need a scabbard somewhere on the tractor.
Handguns should be carried on your person. I'd recommend an armpit holster. Waist holsters tend to catch on too much on a tractor. Ditto a thigh holster. Calf or boot carry gets too much crude and requires daily cleaning.

FWIW, I know that those who don't carry firearms every second of every day wonder why those who do feel the need to feel safe against the potential badguy don't seem to understand that your need to carry doesn't necessarily make those who don't feel any safer because you do carry. How is the unarmed person supposed to determine if YOU are a good guy or a bad guy? I know if everyone carries a weapon at all times, then we'll all be safe, right? Well, the answer is no, that solves nothing, either.
So if you don't want fellow citizens asking about why you need to carry, then maybe it's time to not carry, or just take the heat from those of us who choose not to.
And before the barrage of nasty comments, I live in the country, I own guns, I don't carry or see or feel the need to have a weapon on my person or tractor. I'm a mile from pavement, we have most all the critters and pest animals mentioned in our vicinity and plenty of heroin, meth, and other crazed awholes cited in this thread in our wooded rural areas, in addition to an ever increasing bunch of nutcases in our towns/cities; so our environment is a similar microcosm of most of yours.

CM, I have not seen any signs on people saying "I'm carrying a Gun". That's the whole idea of CCW. The bad guy's don't follow the law and the Judges slap their hand when caught. So I carry a Colt Commander in a side holster.
