Your Dream Attachments List

Hopefully you were aware of the loss of lift when you purchased the forks, as it is the same with all bucket forks, so its on you, not on Harry...

The chain-on on forks we bought from Yankee Warehouse cause the same decrease in lifting capacity, and after reading about it here, we decided we could live with that to keep costs down.

That being said, I also WISH I could afford a Kubota QA, and either the adapters or the ability to fabricate them myself.

Why blame Harry???

Oh, and I almost forgot:

A Kubota QA and adapters for FEL
A Single blade subsoiler
a 60" Bush Hog
A tree saw
A York rake 48-60"
A logging winch and accessories
A boom mower
A 4-way bucket
Front and rear remotes
Tilt rear hydraulics

And more TBD

Actually, my post was a plug for Harry. I have already spoken to him and he is already in the process of fabricating a quick attach that can be used to attach his forks to the loader arms when the bucket has been removed.

I may have to go to the beginning of this thread as I can't seem to remember what I saw and wanted, lol. Just bought a new truck so will have to wait till next Christmas or I will be pushing my luck with the boss. I read somewhere, "I hope she doesn't sell my stuff for what I told her I spent on it when I go." lol.

In my ignorance of your private communications with Harry, who has been very helpful to me, I misunderstood your post as blaming him for your loss of lift.

I apologize for the mischaracterization, and any implied or explicit insult you may have taken from my post.

I'm sure that many will be happy to read this news.

Will a bucket QA adapter also be included?

Be well, and tractor-on safely,
Thomas

Not sure exactly what he will, come up with, as he of course has to engineer it in a way that keeps the price down and at the same time maintains quality. (No small feat!) If he comes up with a QA, that will be great, but if not, the Kubota QA is only some $300, so that won't kill me. (Note that the Kubota QA is advertised as only being compatible with the new BX25D FEL arms, but others on this forum have indicated that it will in fact fit on the older BX25's. It's just that the newer BX25D's supposedly have a bit thicker steel on those arms in order to accommodate more weight.)

He may chime in at some point, but in the meantime I have faith he will come up with the right product, as he has created some amazing things in the past.

Sounds like you are sucking up now, lol. No small feet et all.

:mischievous: From one extreme to the other...

I wonder if there is any way he could (actually would, 'cause I know that he certainly can) rig one up to fit our. B'series loader arms too... :D

Harry, please, please?..

There are already SSQA adaptors on the market for B series.

Yes this is an interesting thread.

First off we need a tractor - badly.

In 2010 we were blessed to be able to purchase a 154 acre farm property for retirement. Fifty or so acres are clear and the rest are woods.
We have no neighbors to either side or behind us. It is all crown land around us with lots of nature along with peace and quiet!

Now back to the wish list. (Grin)

I would like a nice used - two to four year old tractor
A front end snow-blower
6 plus Bush hog
Larger Tiller
Post hole digger
Chipper
Backhoe
Leaf and grass collector for mulch for large garden
Sickle bar mower
Two way wood splitter
Round bailer
Everything needed to turn over old hay fields to plant organic hay (Everyone I have tried to hire, in the past 3 years, wants to burn the fields. The great thing about this property is that the fields have not been treated with any chemicals for almost two decades; making it much easier for us to become organic now.)
And any other attachments this city boy would need for working this land. (Smiles)

What is more organic than fire?

Burn = Chemicals and not fire. That's the way they mean it around here.

However, I did call our fire marshal some time ago and asked if we could do a control fire burn on our fields. You reminded me he has not gotten back, like he said he would, so I need to call him back.

I didn't realize that is what is meant now.

I grew up in a rural area that the local fire departments were volunteer. You could "donate" to them to come out with trucks and babysit burning off your fields in the spring. Yes you had to spray the field down with kerosene, diesel, or whatever to get it to go, but that was a minimal amount from a weed sprayer (generally 2-3 gallons). They were just there to make sure it didn't jump property lines and such or get into the wood line. They appreciated the extra income and a day out. For that matter I once saw some of them popping beers once it got into the center of the field.

Just a quick comment on quick-tatch bucket forks....most are aware of loss of lift capacity as a tradeoff for the lower price compared to a bucket-replace fork. For me, I am using forks to lift tree trim brush so those loads are not that heavy anyway, and it saves me the time & hassle of changing out the bucket.

Jus' saying.........:2cents:

We really only rarelyy miss the "extra" lift that we would have using the forks directly attached to our loader arms, like when we are trying to move full pallets or bags of firewood. Otherwise, they seem to work just fine about 95% of the time, and sometimes it is very handy having the bucket there to throw other things into or catch loose peices that roll off of pallets or brush piles.

On those occasions when we could use a little extra lifting power, we have had success with shifting the load closer to the pivots when possible, or taking only part loads.

My wish list has been completed, I went to Ritchie Bros auction day before yesterday and got a 66" Wildkat grapple. Never used $800.

No one has mentioned a Harley Rake! This is the coolest tool ever. A rotating drum as wide as the tractor with carbide studs, pull it perpendicular to travel it shreds sod, pokes out rocks, shreds small tree roots. Angle it you can windrow around your field bringing all rocks to a pile in center, where you pick them up with loader.

The 3 pt. Taylor, or Midland Pasture Dream w/legume box has caught my eye, and man would I love to have one..!! Looks like an oldie but goodie..!! One will fit right in around here... :)

My list is easy: I'll take one of everything that has been mentioned by others.
