I was in sixth grade math, one of the kids that helped in the library burst into the room and yelled "The President has been shot." There was a lot of bad info early, we heard Mrs. Kennedy had been shot, etc... JFK, whether you liked the man, the politics or the family background, it was a major shock to have the President killed. It hadn't happened since 62 years before when McKinley was killed and a few people were around for both. It was the first one that had electronic media coverage.

Mid 40's going to 65 today, by Sunday the high is calling for 35 with 25-35 mph northwest winds. I'm getting out the long Johns!

I was in the 9th grade when Kennedy was assassinated. They announced the news on the PA system. We all just sat there stunned, and yep, the teacher, a young woman, was holding back tears. It seems like a lifetime ago. How our lives have changed in those 50 years is incredible.

Off to the quarry for 1st load of base rock for my catchment tank relocation - an unanticipated project. Have to relocate my four 4k gallon tanks to new location and replumb. Hopefully, I can get 4 trailer loads today.

Good Morning. 1030, overcast, 66* with 89% humidity. Forecast high of 79* with 20% chance of rain. Going in early today to let my boss start her weekend early. {and to give me more hours} We have lawyers in the building today. I will wait till they leave to spray the room with Lysol. Just kidding. I like all my customers, just some more than others.

Since I was 2 when Jack was shot, I don't remember it. But my parents kept the copies of Life that covered it, and I knew they were not to be played with. I need to ask Mamma what happened to those. Everyone have a good day.

My friend with his own plane tells me any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

I don't understand all the excitement about this. The plane landed, it took off. Pilot envy I think is what's going on here. :laughing:
