Dave, you are right. I had a PM telling me the same thing. There was another piece that I wasn't sure went with the stove. Now that I know it does, I will clean it up and see if I can put it all together. It will take a few nuts and bolts to mount the doors.

That one is in good shape. Mine is showing too much daylight to use it for cooking. I'll try to find the other brace and get it put together. We do have a working stove at our creek camp, but it isn't that fancy. When Mamma cooks on it, she likes to use corncobs for fuel. She says they are best to manage the heat.

Earlier tonight when I was walking the trash out to the road, the moon and the Evening Star were showing through patches of cloud. When I got back with the camera they were hid. I got a peek at them a couple of times, but not what I wanted. Since I was out there, I went ahead and shot what was left of the sunset.

Last night on 495 there was a traffic jam and took me nearly 4 hours to drive home, normal ride would be around 11/2 hours!

You can tighten up those old stoves with refractory cement. We even made some larger spacers out of pieces of refractory bricks (the white ones). For many years we had a modern airtight cook stove (Elmira and Oval)and closed air gaps frequently. I've seen some pretty big holes closed up. Anything can make a dramatic improvement performance.
