Your towing rigs and trailers

I am looking at doing away with the ramps, and going to this 24' 10 ft. fixed + 14 ft. 6 in. tilt deck).

Does anyone have experience with this style? Comments?

I like the idea of it, no ramps. What happens if you have a load longer than 10 feet up front and wanna load a tractor or a large zero turn mower? Your bed won't tilt then. My 10 ton GN has spring assisted ramps. I love them.
hugs, Brandi

I have a full tilt 24' deck. I bought it to be my all in one trailer. I can haul my 1 ton dump on it or my mustang or the primary reason my tractors.

I forgot to add my comments in it. This trailer works great for me very versatile the deck over is as low as it can be with the metal over the tires instead of wood. The deck angle is designed to be no more than 15 degrees if I remember right so it's not too steep when loading. It is very stable when loading which surprised me. I thought there would be some movement when loading a heavy load like the T5050 but none at all.

You are SOL (sure outta luck).:D I have never had that kinda load on my deckover trailer. I have loaded long tubing in the middle, and drove up over it, then strapped it down between the wheels.

Just looking at the impressive specs, low initial price and low operating costs of the new 2014 GMC pickups with the DI 5.3. The 3/4 and 1 tons will likely be 2015's. the 1/2's will carry 1500-1800 in the box and tow 10,000-12,000 lbs.
not shabby on cheapo 87 octane. One battery, cheap filters, one alternator, no glow plugs, no turbo, no particulate filter/burner, no turbo, no fuel gelling concerns etc.

Fordman,
What make and model trailer is that? What is the weight rating on it? That is exactly what I would like, I like the deck over and full tilt. Seems like a perfect setup for just about anything.

That's why I went with a 20+5 GN as my first. I hate to spend money on item #2 when I could have just spent a little more on item #1 to begin with. 14k 20+5 GN should last me a longggggggggggggg time before I need to upgrade it.

I went with the 14k 20+5 GN too. Then I realized that it wasn't always going to be enough. Seems like you always find bigger projects once you start down this path. Even 10,0000 lb pieces of equipment start to push the limits of the 14K trailers once you start adding chains, tools and the weight of the trailer itself. Ended up with the 27+5 20K.
