Day 105

The steady light rain all day has been perfect for the new seed. Temps in upper 50's is also right on I think.

Inside they got the wall going down the stairs dressed up.

And the door at the bottom of the stairs is in

There's a wet spot in the middle of the basement floor. Will need to figure out what's up with that!

The correct walkout basement doors finally got installed

Tile work continued. They started on the Tuscan Blue today. They asked me if I wanted to alternate the English Grey with the Tuscan Blue where they meet to kind of "weave" the colors together. The alternative of course would be to rip the tiles at the split. What would you do?

They fixed the areas with bubbles under the underlayment

And they finally got the built-in rack trimmed correctly. The painters will need to patch that hole from the outlet that was put on the wrong side initially.

Peter, I still don't really get or appreciate the craftsman style with the butt joints. Would you happen to have a pic handy of the oak trim and speaker grill that I built for you as a comparision? For some reason, I am stuck on 45 degree miter joints.

Pete how about a border separating the different tile between the two rooms. The tile comes in smaller size but are attached in a one foot long section. We did this to separate rooms and did one whole room like a picture frame. Turned out very nice without a lot of added cost

I just took these shots Stu. You're right, this is a whole different level of finish, or should I say level of craftmanship? lol . The irony is that the work you did for me is always covered up with the speaker grills where mom's will always be on display.

Lol. Yes she is! Even though she's just 2 years old, she has a vocabulary of several hundred words. Her 2 most favorite words are "tractor ride". :D

The rest of the pines still need to be dropped. Tree cutters I guess are notoriously unreliable. The guy that was supposed to come this past weekend didn't show up either. Guess I'll to pick up a wedge and attempt to drop them all myself in the right direction. Some of them need to be dropped within a 5 degree window to not land on the new grass or fall into other trees.

Too bad ski season is over and I am no longer traveling to Nelson County regularly -- I'd gladly drop those tress for you. I just dropped a stand of white pine for a neighbor here recently, about 40 trees in total (they are to be milled for barn siding).

Sounds like my kind of girl lol, back when my GFs daughters were smaller I would put them on the rider tractor and let them steer (8 yrs old) then got them driving it for a while. then they figured out mowing was a CHORE so they stopped...

Grey and blue tile join: How about five midnight black tiles?

Is the water on the basement floor coming from above? It looks like there is an area in the middle that water dripped down on maybe.
