I've got your octagonal gable vent installed. :laughing:

Being a space efficiency nut and a grass trimmer hater, I moved the entry over next to the left edge of the post like the blocks were shown yesterday. Inside the garden space the traffic flow would leave more space for flowers that way. Filled in the little grass strip between the walk and wall. Probably still curve the outside edge but get rid of that weed strip by the wall.
Peter must have taken a weekend sabbatical to get away from all this. Sounds like a good idea to me.:cool2:

Good call JP. I haven't used any of the other versions, so I don't have an opinion of them.

I've been using home designer pro for several years. I almost upgraded to chief architect a couple of times, but home designer meets all of my needs. I really like their software.

I wish, but not from me. I don't use the landscape capabilities much. I know with the pro version if you have elevation data you can actually contour the land in the rendering. I always wanted to play around with that, but haven't done so yet.

I agree, the walls look better lower. I also would not surround the garage door with stone; it looks out of place to me. I would leave the all the stone the same height, with no stone over the garage door or at garage door sides up high. No stone post either. I'd just put an attractive normal post there.

That triangle under the roof on the left side would look nice with some design made out of wrought iron.

To me, the "triangle" looks "off".

Nice Jay, it looks much better without the stone above the garage door, and side walls. How about add the triangle back in, since it's already there. The vent may not look right then?

I just saw your other post about losing your dog, so now I understand what you meant by the above sentence.
That is really tuff. Don't know what to say except I'm really sorry.
My wife is crying about it.
About a month ago our dog was jumping in the back of the jeep down at the horse barn when it was ice cold outside. He goes with her at night to warn against cyote and other perils.
The darn liftgate cyclinder didn't hold, because of the cold, and he jumped right into the edge with his forehead as it was coming down. Knocked him out.
She called me and I went down. We brought him back to the basement and it was over 30 minutes of rubbing him and talking to him before he budged. He was still paralyzed on one side the next day but we kept working with him and now, after a month, except for a little dragging of one paw sometimes he has returned to the loveable dog we got at the rescue shelter 10 years ago.
We have been married 49 years and have always had dogs. It is never any easier when one dies.
Again, I'm very sorry for your loss.
