Got this in the mail yesterday. Luckily both of my 6.0 engines (04 & 06) were trouble free. Any of you get this letter?

The local diesel mechanic has had quite a few come thru for the normal stuff- egr and head gaskets. One fellow in our area loves the 6.0. He does the head bolt swap and egr mods and they run forever. He currently has one with right at 300k.

Yes I got one last week I had a early dec 02 build 2003 F350 6.0 had two turbos one under warranty one not. Dumped truck after they refused to help me with second turbo in 5 k miles.

Loved the truck and tranny the engine was not an improvement from the 7.3 If I would have gotten the 7.3 I would still have it

yeah those seem to be the common problems with the 6.0. correct those issues and you have a pretty reliable engine for a long time from what I hear. I see alot of 6.0's running around town. My friend who has a landscaping business has a 6.4 F-450 and when he first got it, the fuel mileage was crap and he had some issues with it. took off all the emissions stuff, put a tune on it and that thing runs like a scalded dog now! hasn't had a lick of trouble with it since.

I got the letter. I think mine has had a turbo or two but it was with the previous owner. Knock on wood, no problems for me yet.....

I got the letter and had to replace EGR cooler, and head gaskets on my 05 at around 80k miles. Im going to see how this letter works.

I contacted a lawyer before I got the letter. Had an 06. Replaced the turbo and egr at 70000 miles. Ford offered 500.00 as a settlement. I held out for a whopping 750.00. A far cry from the 2500.00 it took to replace the turbo. Screw ford. They should be ashamed of themselves for the 6.0. I went to the dealer and they offered 14,000.00 trade in. I went to dodge and they gave me 18,000.00. Friggin ford piece of garbage. Never again. Contact the lawyer and get to ford like they got to you. Most important is never buy a ford again

And good luck selling it. I had it on Craigslist for a month and never got one call. Ford piece of garbage

Also if your 6 leaker was fleet purchased like the 40+ 6.0l trucks we had, your not entitled to any retribution. Thanks Ford, another reason the blue oval will never be in my driveway...

I too will be on the never again Ford train.... Their loss, as I was a real deal FORD TRUCK MAN in a chevy town..... now maybe if I find a real nice 97-02 7.3 psd but nothing newer never!

I figured this thread would deteriorate into a bash. News flash: they've all made a lemon here & there and most everyone has had a not so pleasant experience with one manufacturer or another.

Not my intention. Just found it odd this letter hit my mailbox 6 years since the last 6.0 was made. Both of mine were trouble free.

What really frosted my keyster was they offered me 14,000 for my truck and they had one with more miles on it in their lot for 25,000. Why does a ford dealer continue to sell this garbage? And lowballing me just pissed me off even more.

Got the letter. Had an '03 6.0L, but sold it a long time ago for fear I would be paying huge repair bills after warranty. The truck was nice but didn't seem like a smart one to keep.

It had the turbo replaced under warranty, also all new ball joints under warranty. I didn't pay anything for those repairs under the original new vehicle warranty, and I was the second owner. I was surprised that according to the letter, some people were charged a deductible. As usual, the lawyer gets the moolah, $12.8M plus expenses.

i also got the letter, but my truck has had no problems at all. its a 2004.

I got the letter too, so far I think my only out of pocket expense has been one egr valve. Other things were covered by warranty.
