Use to commute from Alameda Ca. to Coupeville Wa. 926 miles each way via Alaska airlines. Only did it once or twice a month. Refused to move my family to the bay area while I was on the USS Carl Vinson. I spend half my time deployed anyway.

Mark,
#1 - Thank you for your service shipmate.
#2 - Unfortunately I can beat that... In mid June 2004 I moved my Family to Fredericksburg VA from Anaheim Hills, CA. But I kept my Job in Irvine, CA.
I used to get up at 3am Eastern, Drive to Reagan National Airport (I'd arrive at approx 5:46-6am. I'd catch the Alaska Airlines non-stop to LAX, and arrive in LAX about noon. I'd drive from LAX to my office in Irvine CA. 2613 air miles, 65 miles to DCA, and about 50 or so miles from LAX to Irvine (I can't recall the exact distance).
Thursday I would head home on the reverse route.
I did that basically 50 times per year from June 2004 until late Oct. 2006...
I flew that route so many times I knew all the crew, all the air marshalls, and too many of the passengers would even recognize me. I flew over 500,000 air miles in 2 years...
I think of it as the commute from H3LL...
Now I just drive ~160 miles round trip approx 4 times per week.
