Sounds like a great excuse for a pto generator!

Woo Hoo!

"Honey, I need to buy another Tractor so I can... BANG!"

Hmmm... Maybe I just need a generator... :D

So it took me all day to get started (for a wide variety of reasons) but we did get started. We unhooked the Grapple and stump grinder, then we went and borrowed the PHD from the neighbors. We used their 12" auger for the gate hinge side post, then switched to the 9" I just bought (A brand new auger is SWEET!). Two different buddies from Church came over to assist. My duaghters helped (and mostly helped make a fire in a new fire pit I dug for them).

We messed up a few times and discovered just how grippy ring-shank nails are.

The new Rigid framing nail gun was flawless.

The wife thought it wa slooking good.

I will do more tomorrow after Church.

Goodnight!
Thanks,
Be well,
David

Fresh out of the box default. I have not even opened the user manual yet. I saw something about it was set default to single action I think.

I tried to use my buddies Bostich first, because he needs he to use up some nails he cannot use, buyt after loading some nails, I could not get it to actually shoot a nail! So I opened my new box, dripped some oil into it, loaded nails and WHAMMO I was nailing (I could grow to LOVE this nail gun).

It is a SWEET nail gun!

What are the different methods, and why would I use them?

David

PS - I Love your sig, used it for morning Family devotion just yesterday...

I don't use mine to make a living I'am guessing bump mode for speed, single action for safety or inner corners.

I change my sig(s) every now and then. I like to find the little hidden pearls and not use "mainstream classics". Ezekiel 20 : 19 / Revelation 22 : 16

David,

the different modes allow you to hold the trigger and just bump the head unit against whatever you are nailing. It is for fast framing. Single means you have to pull the trigger each time you want a nail to shoot. Did not know you were looking to use a nail gun, could have lent you one, but now you have a new tool, which is always good.

Good to see progress is being made with the fence.

Make sure anytime the PHD is operating everyone is clear. I was doing ER hours and saw a guy come in that got caught up in the PHD and broke both legs, arm, rib and generally looked chewed up. His buddy was sitting on the tractor and accidentally moved the tractor and before he knew it he was a rag doll on spin cycle. He did not stay long in the ER, they sent him straight to surgery to stop the internal bleeding.

David I'm gonna warn you now. Don't get to enjoying that nail gun It leads to storage sheds, horse shelters, Hay barns, tree houses, and to many other projects to list. It can be an ugly path to go down:laughing:

I am totally on thatglide path already. This is just the beginning of the fence (I need to build lots more fence once the res of the 5 acres is clear), then I need to finish the attic, re-roof the house (hopefully expanding the 2nd floor in the process), build a 10 x 20 shed for the harleys, then I need a workshop shed, and the wife needs garden boxes for raised bed gardening, then...

I have many offers of a loaner tool, and I just don't feel right keeping some guys nail gun for a couple years...

So I bought one, and I have a borrowed one so we can nail both ends of a board and roll (but the borrowed one won't shoot nails for some reason).

Thanks,
David
