I was getting ready to take my rear blade off today and grabbed the adjustment arm on the 3 PT and it was slippery, so I looked under the tractor and saw everything was wet on the right side of the tractor from under the seat down and the inner wall of the rear tire. I then check the site glass and it was only about 1/8 full. I ran the tractor and saw nothing, then I ran the bucket up the whole way against the limit and it started spraying straight out the back from under the seat. It looks like a metal hydraulic line with a bend in it that is leaking. Now that I found it I guess I need to call the dealer and have them come pick it up to fix it.... I am right at 33-34 hours on the machine......:( Oh yeah and I didn't even get to cut the grass....

Sorry to hear that Tom!:(
Do youy know what happened? Did it break, something pinch it,or did it just plain come apart?

Yeah not sure about the easy fix?? It looks like they will have to remove the seat and all the brackets for the seat to get to this line..

Sorry to hear about the leak. Should be a pretty easy fix though, I have taken the steel lines of my Yanmar before and it wasnt to much of a hassle.

I hear you tom, what I meant was at least your not having transmission or engine troubles and everything should be under warranty.

I'm not sure it just looks like it cracked, I just can't see in there good enough. Unless something came loose but the way it sprayed me in the face it seemed like a crack...

Yeah that is the good part!!! Hopefully you can't mess anything else up by running it low:confused: I just wish it was closer to the 50 hour mark so I could have just had them change all the fluids...

Now that I think about it, maybe it has been sucking air?? I did notice that I had to keep bumping my hydraulics up on the FEL cause it would slowly go down when I was running it?? Is that normal for everyone else??

Yes, it sounds normal. When the hydraulics go back to the reservoir the fluid is not pressurized. The transmission is the outlet for the fluid after it has circulated through the FEL and is then sent through the hydraulic pump and back through the FEL. It is likely that the "fading" hydraulics would have caused this.

Tom, your loader shouldn't lower while your running. It can of course bleed down when turned off and the loader is left up. Don't know why but this cracked line sounds familiar. Will have to search 2720/2520 hydraulic line cracked.

yeah I remember reading something about that before but not sure if it was the same line or not?? The loader and bucket were surely going down while I was running, noticed it last week while lifting shingles up to my roof.... Didn't think much of it, thought maybe it was air in the line.... I guess in a way I was right!!

Yeah after doing my research and reading your post on the forum I asked the dealership if they added more for the FEL and they did. I also checked the sight glass and it has always been full until today.... Something either was loose, came loose or broke.....

The good news is that the dealer already came and picked the tractor up today!!

Please let us know what happened. I think it is just a glitch in an otherwise dependable tractor.

The sales guy did send me an email and told me that it had a broken hydraulic line.... (LOL) and he said it was ordered.... hopefully it don't take very long to get here and get installed!! I'm thinking that I had a defective line since I've always had to bump the bucket up since I've had it. Wasn't there a fella that was on a island somewhere that broke this same line also (or sounded like the same line)??

It could have been damaged during manufacturing. As others have said, the FEL shouldn't drop with the tractor running.

My tractor has the diverter valve for the independent lift, which was installed by the dealer. Despite following the installation manual regarding the routing of the hydraulic lines from the valve, the 3PH lift arm was still able to contact one of the lines when the hitch was fully lowered. This caused the line to crack near the fitting and gave me a hydraulic fluid shower. The line got replaced and we rerouted it so that it couldn't happen again.

At least your leak was under the seat ;)

Yeah it still got me in the face though because you know I had to find where it was leaking from!!!! lol..... I am glad to know that it shouldn't have been moving, being the 1st tractor I have ever owned I didn't know any better with the FEL... I will from now on though!!!!:D

It may have been sucking air from the get go Tom. You're right,it shouldn't move when it's running. The bucket though, that is a different story.Especially the curl. With a healthy load of gravel (at least 1000 lbs) the curl on my bucket will start to relax, but ever so slightly. By the time I get to the end of our road,(3/10 mile) and I hit the curl,it may move an inch or so. I'm sure that kind of movement is normal.

Hope you get your baby back soon.:)
