Has anyone seen any concrete info on the rumored new L3800?

Any Kubota dealers/reps here? When will Kubota update their website to reflect the 3800?

I saw one post that said the L3800 was anticipated in mid-Nov. I saw another that had a reputed L3800 photo. But nothing concrete yet from Kubota.

How will the price compare with the L3700? Anyone know?

Thanks.

The L3800 is on dealer lots. I've had one for about a month with the new 524 loader. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. The L3700 SU has been discontinued.

As someone mentioned they are on some lots with more showing up next month?
You can get an idea of pricing threw Barlows. You did not say on your profile what part of the country you are ?

what pros and cons do you have to share ? what price range should we look for? What part of TN are you near?

I'm in upstate New York - Finger Lakes region.

That's bad news, I think, about the L3700 being discontinued. I was going to buy one after the first of the year. What about pricing for the L3800? Any word on how much more it will be, equally set up with FEL, than the L3700? (I'm assuming it will cost more.)

Can't wait for the photos - thanks. I'm amazed Kubota does not have them on the website yet.

You can get an idea of pricing threw Barlows. There will still be L3700 available at bargan prices most likely.

Yep, Barlows is a resource. I'll tell you, my local dealers will have to make a good price to keep me from buying from Barlows.

No Kubota reps on site? Wondering when the info on the 3800 is going to hit the website.

It may be very good news if they addressed some of the inherent problems with the L series 3ph...

So, they are already shipping?

Any dealers have them?

The L3700SU has been discontinued before it made it into the L 2800,3400, 4400 brochure. Is that some sort of record?

By the way, I like the 3 piece hood of the L3700. Like the old B5200s, 7200s etc. you can dent the lower parts of the hood and replace them cheaply.

I think the L3800 has been in the works for some time, but wasn't ready for release last year. If my theory is right, Kubota made a few minor tweaks to the L3400/L2800, added some horsepower to compete with the Deere 3038E in the "stripped" tractor market, then finished the L3800 design this year.

It'll be interesting to see what's changed on the L3800. I hope they're re-engineered the 3 point valving/piston, it would be even better if it were reverse-engineered to work on the existing L series tractors.

As for the increase in loader capacity, it isn't that much more than the LA 463 we currently have. Nice looking tractor though.

As an edit, have a look at this link...

Products: L3800DT Kubota Canada Ltd.

Looks like we 'uns up here in the frozen north get first look at the new beasties:)

Having said that, I don't see much difference in the specs from the 3400/3700, I think the only noticeable change is the sheet metal and possibly the dash. Same bore and stroke as the 3400/3700, same engine (D1803). Same lift capacity on the 3ph as well, so unless they've changed the internals it's effectively the same tractor with a face lift.

All the rest of the economy L's seem to be in the lineup as well.

Chilly807, what are the inherent problems with the 3 ph on the L series? There problems, do they exist in the Grand L models as well?

The grand L has a different 3pt system and doesn't have any issues that I know of or have seen.

Like Al said, the problems don't carry over into the Grand series.

The 3 point hitch "raise" function is quite jerky on the economy L series like I have, the 2800/3400/3700 line of tractors all have the same problem.

If you want to see how bad it is, do a You Tube search for Kubota, 3400, 2800, 3 point hitch and you'll see what I mean. There's at least one 10 page thread here about it as well, maybe more.

It's something you can live with if you have to, but I will say that if I had known about it before I bought the tractor it would have influenced my decision.

Does 'addressed the jerky issue' mean resolved the issue? Is it something we can retrofit to current models?
