Comparison The new LS / New Hollands are around

My pop always said that no matter how hard you try - you can't put a shine on a turd.

Apparently your Pop never watched Mythbusters. They proved you can indeed polish a turd!

Is there a chart for the speeds of the 12/12 SS tranmissions, and the 16/16 SS transmissions. I have searched and can find none.

Seems to me the LS models are a lot of tractor for a good price. Price out a Boomer 50 on the NH site, and Deere nor Kubota can compete with it - in price. At that price, if New Holland stands behind them with the NH brand, reputation, and service, seems like a good deal.

But LT said this was a one-time shot, I think? Is it? What does that mean? They won't have this line in five years?

Has anyone bought one, to give us some impressions, etc?

I don't understand all the negative comments here:mad:. No one actually states what is lesser quality between a TC30 and the turd tractors. I have a Montana - you can call me biased if you like - but the short of it is that the LS machine is high quality, has a well respected engine and tranny. Dollar to dollar, the LS is a much better value than an 'equivalent' CNH, Kubota, Deere.

In this day and age of rebranding, sub-contracting of parts manufacturing and assembly, I don't think there is much difference between most brands (not counting the really cheap China).

If you want to bash a brand, why not be specific and state why they don't compare? Is the complaint worth the 20 - 30% difference in cost?

I don't know that I'd say that once these LS manufactured New Hollands are sold there won't be anymore. What I heard was that NH contracted for a limited number of these LS tractors to see how things would work out as a supplement to their lineup. It's my understanding that this isn't a wholesale switch from Shibuara to LS all across the board. It sounds like LS tractors may replace some less viable Shibaura tractors and there may be some new value tractors coming along to increase the lineup. I don't get the impression that Shibaura is out and LS is in, but more like they are both going to be making NH compact tractors to fill different roles in the lineup.

Looks like NH went off and made a cheaper version of the LS and McCormick CT units. I guess taking off the rear remotes and the 3 point draft control as standard features is to put more money in NH bottom numbers.

What's going to be interesting is seeing what McCormick is going to do... The inside talk is going strong about it. I guess that is why I was able to drop some units by $2K.

Well guys you can all bash LS as much as you please but truth is lots of the tractors you are driving or talking about were made by LS. Not withstanding JD and Kubota, I think I have seen at least every other brand mentioned that LS made one or more of their models.
Personally, I looked at every brand out there and did not find one including JD and Kubota that had the quality and standard features of the LS tractors that I was looking at. After spending months looking and hours searching the internet, I purchased the best looking, most comfortable ergonomically built tractor with the most features that I wanted for the least price. It has features that are useful not just for show that are not even available on other brands.
That is a P 7010C in the photo.

I saw one of those off brand, junk yard rejects idle up to a pallet of stone one time and pick it up and drive off. This was after several of the popular name brand colors had tried to lift the pallet and could not.
