Wrong oil. Drain and refill with 15W40, pressure will go back up

I would run a good 15W40 like Greg said. Rotella, Delvac, Dello, ect. Do not skimp on the oil.

Do as Greg and Chris say. 15w 40 - nothing else! 30w is fine if your ambient temps are below 35 degrees. Even then a milti-vis would be recommended.
(I may have slightly more lubrication engineering knowledge than some business owners ;))

If you are still in doubt, contact your local petroleum distributor and see what they recommend. (Not the guy behind the parts counter at the local auto supply).

so i put rotella 15w40 in the tractor today and the oil pressure is not a whole lot better
my gague is the chinese type i assume
starts at 0 then 2,0 then 2.5
it is red up to 2.0 which is half way up
i started the tractor and it went a little above 2.0 for a few seconds then stayed around 2.0 just above the red
i have not had time to run it any yet (thunder storm)
it is lower than when it was new but is it ok?

Before I did much of anything, I would go to the auto parts store, and pick up a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Harbor Freight sells them for about $10.00. See if that agrees with the orginal gauge, and make a decision from there.

Max took the words right out of my mouth.;)
But you did the right thing in changing the oil anyway.
You will also need a metric male to SAE female pipe adapter to whatever the mechanical gauge thread size is.

I think there may also be a possibility that the new sending unit is out of calibration. Greg has a good procedure for recalibration.

It should be noted that 2.0 bar on your gauge equals 29.4 psig,
and 20.5 on your gauge equals 36.23 psig, both are adequate operating pressures at operating temperatures once thermal equilibrium (thermalization) has been achieved.
