LLY motor the LBZ didnt come out till 2006. The major injector problem was with the LB7. The LLY had an over heating problem that was due to the turbo mouth piece. It was fixed with the LBZ or LMM mouth piece. thats already taken care of so dont have to worry about that.

IIRC 2006 had both, depending on the date of mfg.

I know all about the injector problems. It still looms on the LLY. Been there.

2001 - LB7 two sets replacement

2002 - LB7 3 sets replecement

2006 - LLY 1 set replecement

2007 - LBZ none. Sweet engine at stock.

Not a bad deal at $20k. The auction houses can tell you the real deal on what they will give for them.

I let a 2002 go for $17.5k in 2007 at 98k miles.

I belive it is true that you could get a 6speed allison with the LLY in early 06

I run the flat snot out of mine.2004 2500 ext cab short bed. Just a banks six gun,leveling kit and some BFG's. Best truck i've ever owned. Almost hateful the way it pulls

Looks like a good deal. The price have really dropped in the last year on used ones. I love the wheels and tires. Good deal being a 3500 SRW, a lot more truck for the money.

Not to bash but the injectors have been a sore point. Been there. Have a GM dealer run the VIN and see where and how its been serviced. I think you could only get the 6 speed on late 06 and early 07 classic body style.

Have you priced injectors? It should still be under warranty.

2006 had the 6 speed Allison in both the LLY and the LBZ. In fact they are the same engine only the LBZ has a hotter tune. The LLY had 310 HP and 600 ft.lbs. torque, where the LBZ came with 360 HP and 650 ft. lbs. torque. Both are great trucks, but the 2005 had the older LLY in it. I know my LBZ is a pulling machine that makes my old Dodge dually feel like a 4 cylinder......lol....... Kong
