I just had my first real use, since it was delivered last Saturday, of my new Grand L 3240HST tonight. We got around 8 inches of snow in my area of Connecticut today and I used my tractor to clear it. I love the new HST system. The Grand L also feels much more stable than the B3030 ever did. Maybe because this one is an open station and the B3030 was a cab model, I am really not sure. The large turfs definately ride smoother to.

I had a front blade on the B3030 which always worked flawlessly to clear snow. I am currently stuck using the bucket on the Grand L until I can pick up a rear blade. Back dragging the front bucket edge in float mode did work reasonably well. Not as well obviously as the front blade did though on the B3030. I am hoping a rear blade along with the front loader will be the ideal setup.

I am going to post some tractor pics tomorrow when I can get some in daylight :)

I'm in Ct. too , and I used my B3030 cab with my new Kubota snow blade for the first time tonight much faster then last year with the loader and backhoe.
This year loaded tires no backhoe and blade works well.
I have to tell you though I'm glad I had my cab tonight in the snow. you must have at least missed the cab.
Last year I used to the loader in Med gear to move snow, tonight with the plow I used High range
Couple of times the blade flipped in the neighbors pot holes that I wasn't aware of and I thought maybe I was going to fast. Did you plow in High range or med? with the b3030.

Just cleared out 10-12" here in snowy central NY with the B2620. I don't think that much fell, but the wind piled it up higher in areas and of course the plows really fill in the end of the drive. My snow fence is 32' from my driveway and I was launching the snow over it and farther. I would say easily it was going 40-45' with the deflector wide open. A cab would have been nice since the wind blew it back in my face a few times, but I was pretty much blowing it with the wind. I'm certain now there will be no need for chains. I never lost traction once in 4wd. Ran the RPMs right around 2200 and there was no struggle. I do find I have to go pretty slow in M range or the blower just pushes the snow past the sides or piles it up in the front. There were snowmobiles flying around enjoying the first rides of the year, but little do they know I was having more fun than they were :D

Not that I'm trying to help you spend more money or anything, but after running a front blade, I don't think you're going to be AS pleased with the FEL/rear blade combo. It works well, but a front blade really is the ticket. I'd say a nice 7' Curtis loader mounted hydraulic blade would be quite the nice snow removal setup.

I've got the FEL/rear blade combo now, and have used it on smaller machines, but a loader mounted 6' Curtis blade is on my future want/need list. :D

I spent yesterday and today clearing with my B7800's FEL. Not often we get 8" of snow in Western Washington State, but glad I have my 'bota to help.

Orange on white sure looks good going down my 1,000' driveway.

Now if i could just figure out how to put the TPH on I could attach my new (to me) rear blade. Manual really doesn't tell you much.

I love the 60'' Hyd. lift and angle blade .
It is for either my BX23 or my BX1500.
I have it on the BX1500 .
That way the FEL is on the BX23 ready to go if i need to move snow piles.

The lower arms go on the opposite way it seems they should. Once you get the right one on the right side, looking at it makes a lot more sense. There isn't much room behind my tractor for pictures, but I went out, and took a few to see if that would help. Sometimes it beats trying to describe something. My tractor is a bit bigger, but the hitch is about the same.

Here on Barbados we got no snow, but the scuba diving was great. I just hope my neighbor is taking care of things back in the UP.

You know, I hate to say this, but if I were on Barbados with my late wife, or in the past several years with a friend, I sure wouldn't be online here. Enjoy that time to the fullest, one never knows when it will end.

Yeah, I got to admit I did miss my cab yesterday and today while I was moving snow

When I had my B3030 I used both Medium and High range depending on the depth of the snow. Plow blades generally work best at faster speeds as it curls the snow and keeps it going forward. That is why truck plows move right along when plowing.

I also flipped the blade on the B3030 a few times on unseen potholes or curbing etc. The quick hitch and front blade on the B3030 always worked flawlessly.

Chuck, thanks for the pics. The owners manual shows next to nothing but there is about a 6 page dealer assembly manual that I didn't see before that shows all the pieces and a pretty good explanation. They should have really put it in the regular manual.
We have about 10" on the ground so far with lots more coming.

This is driving me crazy!

Everybody's getting snow, even further up in our mountains. But not where I am. It's been cold enough to keep the 3-4 inches we've gotten over the last couple of weeks on the ground, but the big storms just aren't making it to us. Meanwhile, there are parts of the mountains that have gotten 4-6 feet in the last 2 weeks. All you guys out east seem to be getting your fair share, too.

My poor tractor. All dressed up and no where to go plow. :(

My father in-law has been a Union operator most of his life (now retired). He really loved my b3030 cab last January when I got it and he saw it for the first time. In fact he thought it was the greatest little unit. At that time I told him I would like to get a front blade for it as I only had the loader and backhoe.
He told me the loader is better because if there is packed snow and ice you can just power down the bucket and clear the pavement clean.
I really like my B2765A front blade.
To my surprise with my blade it also has a power down just enough to put weight on the blade to clear the packed snow. Works nice. Float or power.
As far as I know even 4 wheel drive pickups just float down with the weight of the plow and the plow just rides over the packed snow. Not with my blade.
Just waiting for the snow to finish up so I can get back out there and get some more hard work done in a sweatshirt . I don't even need to defog my rear window anymore since my backup cam.
Funny thing every time I back my 3030 out of the garage all these people show up to watch as shown in the last backup cam.

Hi Waxman-

Is that orange cylinder on your quick hitch another one of your custom touches? Nice machine!

Thanks Evil
The front hitch for the plow was new but sitting out in the crate for a long time at the dealers, paint was flaking and starting to rust under the paint.
So I sent the hitch and the bottom of the plow blade to be powder coated.
They couldn't powder coat the piston unless I took it all apart.
So I painted it with Kubota orange touch up paint because i thought it might look better.
I also ordered new stickers for the front hitch, what can I say I'm fussy.
So I saved 250.00 on the front hitch and spent 200.00 on the powder coat.
But it's a far superior and tougher finish then original.
