YTS4000 Craftsman
Good Performer
Model Year: 0

I purchased the model number YS4500 in 2008 and to date have had excellent results with it. It has a 24-horsepower Briggs engine which is more than enough for the jobs I do with it.

Pros: Well priced and a great performer
Cons: Hard to clean out the grass cutter with out removing the deck

Bought the mower in 2011. Use it for mowing approximately an acre of land in the summer and also use it as a snowblower in the winter on 5,000 sq. feet of driveway. I also use it to haul gravel, mulch and soil around the property. Just recently, I used it to pull a handmade harrow that weighs approximately 200 pounds with 2-inch railroad spikes digging into the ground up and down the driveway. When I turned to go back up the driveway it just spun. I added the rwar weights used for snowblowing at it worked great. The only issue I ever had with it was a no start because of lack of maintenance. Fuel filter was clogged after running out of fuel. Twice a year, spring and fall I do the regular maintenance, grease, oil, filters and checking for loose or broke items and it seems to work great. Grease more than twice a year.

Pros: Good mower for money. Lots of horsepower.
Cons: Don't like the automotive style drive systems.
