TO-35 Ferguson
New Owner
Model Year: 1958

I recently purchased this tractor. It has been taken care of and so far the only thing I've had to do to it was adjust the brakes. I changed fluids when I got it home so I have a baseline. It came with a rotary mower of unknown manufacturer that works well, but I'm going to fabricate a chain curtain for it. I think my place is a lot more rocky than the previous owners. It is also equipped with a small front loader with a trip bucket.

Pros: A very simple, sturdy machine
Cons: Could use power steering

I was about 12 years old when my dad bought a new one to replace a to 20. Live PTO and duel transmission made it every ones 1st choice.

Pros: Trans and duo trans.
Cons: I had the 3-pt stuck in up position a couple of times. Taking load off and letting it fully go down co far has corrected itself.

My grandparents farmed 120 acres for many years with a TO-20 and T0-35 Ferguson tractor. They where reliable and did all the functions that the farm needed. Now days everyone thinks we need a thirty HP lawn mower just to cut the grass. We have a small place now and grow produce and raise a few other crops, and my TO-35 works great for what I need. It runs a 6' tiller great, and I use it with my 2 row corn planter, and other jobs around the place. There's nothing wrong with new equipment, but I couldn't justify the cost to do the same thing this tractor can do. Parts are fairly easy to get and repairs you can do yourself.

Pros: Good all around smaller tractor, reliable work horse.
Cons: Mine doesn't have live PTO, and power steering would be nice at times.

I use my tractor to cut 3 acre of grass. This has been a cheap way for many years.

Pros: Works good.
Cons: Old.

Inherited Ferguson 35
Model Year: 1960

This was my dad's tractor that was used at his 5 acre home property. It is a very consistent farm equipment. Always starts---every time! Recently had a gasoline leak at the carburetor. I have ordered & received a rebuild kit for it. I am using it landscape my property (1 acre). I felt that I was demanding a lot out of this old tractor and bought a John Deere 4600 with 4 wheel drive, tilt/top and 4 in one bucket. I purchased in 2003 or so. The Ferguson is one heck of a tractor which I want to restore at some point. Since I have had it, the paint has severely faded, oil seeps at fittings etc. I would recommend this tractor for anyone doing mild to somewhat heavy grading shallow ripping etc. It is only rear drive wheel but must say everything is original and do not think it has had anything major done to it.

Pros: Dependable, efficient fuel use (gas easy to get as well). Simple tractor so it is easy to repair (haven't had to other then the carburetor).
Cons: Only 2 wheel drive, front wheel axle attachment is a little lightly constructed.
