Great Older Tractor for the Money
Model Year: 1981

I purchased this tractor for $6,000 put another 6,000 for brush hog front end loader, I have owned this tractor 10 years and use it for everything from baling hay to clearing 80 acres of wooded land I purchased. I do have to tinker with it occasionally but for the age and what I gave for it I am very pleased.

Pros: Good HP for the size.
Cons: Power steering weak, Hyd also little weak.

Love this old tractor. She does everything I want it to do.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: No cab or loader.

MF 285 with Taas Loader
Model Year: 1981

Good tractor, but too big for my use. Power steering is very weak on them. Lots of rear end bearing noise in low range. Hydraulics too weak, especially when it is real hot. It has a new engine and new loader.

Pros: Built heavy duty.
Cons: Weak steering, weak hydraulics, low range bearing noise.

MF 285
Model Year: 1976

Paid to much for this tractor, spent to much getting it restored, but its my main tractor now for haying. Good compact size for the horse power.

Pros: Diesel, lots of power.
Cons: It was used hard took a lot to restore.

Pros: Starts well & is easy to work on.
Cons: No cab.
