I Love My 3510
Model Year: 2002

I looked at other brands of tractors, but the Mahindra to me was the most user friendly. This tractor has done every thing I have asked of it and more. It has been in the shop twice; once was self inflected P.T.O. gear damage and a clutch. When it comes time to replace, it will be with another Mahindra. I love my tractor.

Pros: Heavy duty, well built, great lifting capacity.
Cons: Battery in front of radiator blocking air flow.

I am a home owner of sixty acres with approx. 55 acres of timber. I use my 3510 ALL the time. Almost every weekend I am using it in some way. Also now that my brother has bought forty-three acres just across the fence it is being used even more, and he loves it. It is very reliable and the only thing I have had to do to it is a new battery, and it was seven years old. I couldn't be any happier. I had my doubts when I first heard of Mahindra but I was really wrong. Would recommend them to anyone. Very happy.

Pros: All.
Cons: One set of hyd. Couplings.

TractorByNet Site

Had a problem with Mahindra fuel solenoid. Found this site and couldn't have been happier. Asked question one day and the next, got replies on what all to check. It was ALL good and the tractor is running as should. Am more than happy to recommend this site to all with tractors. Very good site. Proud to be part of it.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.

The tractor is heavy, strong and was totally dependable until about 800 hours when starter problems developed. It could not be repaired and was replaced and have had cold weather starting problems ever since. It is equipped with a bucket and forks and has excellent lifting capacity for a compact tractor.

Pros: Heavy, well built, good hydraulics.
Cons: Electrical and starting issues.

This tractor is one of my most valuable pieces of equipment. It is very reliable and has been useful in many scenarios including farm/grass cutting, construction, and general hauling (via the attached loader bucket). I've also used it periodically move a boat around. One observation is that the electrical connection in the back is useless. It is apparently set up for connections that are used outside of the USA. Also, there are no hydraulic hook ups in the back for supporting hydraulic attachments.

Pros: Reliable and sturdy tractor.
Cons: No support for rear hydraulic attachments.

Great machine! Works as good as any other compatible unit. Mahindra has been manufacturing since WWII and is a global company. My dealer was not a good representative for Mahindra but I had done my homework and knew what I wanted. They are out of business but I can get parts from another dealer shipped to my door. Heavy duty machine and the price is right.

Pros: Great value.
Cons: Some of the body work is plastic and has cracked. New models are all metal.

Love My Mahindra
Model Year: 2005

Great tractor with exceptional power that is fun and easy to operate. My wife uses it as much if not more than I do and is just as good a operator (maybe better).

Pros: Perfect size for the typical small acreage owner; great attachments very strong and fun!
Cons: Oil filter can only be bought from a Mahindra dealer, almost 3 times the cost of what one would cost at a parts store or Walmart.

There are a couple of things that could have been designed better on the 3510: -The battery placement right in front of the radiator is horrible for cooling. -The PTO solenoid sticks and is irritating. Other than that, I am totally happy with my purchase.

Pros: Value - no question about it.
Cons: Limited parts support.

You Get What You Pay For.
Model Year: 2002

I bought this machine used with 275 hrs. Its got a lot of muscle for its size. Twelve gears give you the right speed for anything and it's very user friendly--anyone can learn to operate it in minutes. The hydraulics are strong and as others have said, slow, however with the lifting power of the slower loader, it's safer. I've had both back wheels off the ground with ease. The engine and driveline perform flawless. I've started it at 15 below. It took some extra throttle and took a while to clear the exhaust, although I've seen all the problems others have. The PTO sticks--sometimes it wont turn on and sometimes it wont shut off. Electrical headaches. The paint faded to a pink/purple (I'd advise painting with automotive grade finishes). The front tires are simply not heavy enough and only made in that load range. The hydraulics are worthless in cold weather without a 20 minute warm up, which may involve opening the bleeder. The engine is a part of the frame and most of the bolts either come loose or snap (there was a recall with braces that "helps") so they need to be checked a couple times each year. If you can deal with these quirks its a lot of tractor for the money and I have no regrets.

Pros: Power, ease of operation, very graceful machine in tight areas, parts are easy and reasonable, & it's almost impossible to get stuck.
Cons: Paint, electrical, and the hydraulics dont like the cold,

Bought my mahindra 3510 a few months back. had a little time getting used to it and getting all the bugs out. first the PTO wasnt working but that ended up just being a stuck solinoid. now having fun with it all over the property. have a bradco backhoe which works quite nice for the occassional dig.

Pros: Strong Machine for price
Cons: dealer knowledge/support

Small tractor for a small farm or ranch. Has plenty power to do what you need. I purchased this tractor with my property and several attachments. Only device I need is a back-hoe. Need auger with rock point because there is no end to rocks here in Paige, TX.

Pros: Starts everytime I need it.
Cons: Fuel tank is too small.

Mahindra(TYM) 3510
Model Year: 2004

Great tractor. Actually it is a TYM with a Daedong drive train and a KMW FEL. Used for mowing, rotorvating, logsplitting, pulling a lot of timber through the woods, and moving tons and tons of limestone rock around my farm. Pretty much bullet-proof. Stays outside most of the time and starts every time even down to sub-zero temps. The open platform access makes getting off and on from either side pretty easy. The FEL is strong and dependable. The only improvement I would like to see is higher flow rate from the hydraulic system to speed up bucket and 3 pt. operation. Cup holders and a bigger stash box for tools would be nice. Of course this model is now discontinued since Mahindra finally tooled up to manufacture this class of machine themselves, and TYM no longer makes it for them.

Pros: Basic design strength, weight and low center of gravity, reliability
Cons: Low flow rate of hydraulics means FEL and remote function is slow

3510 Review after 5 years
Model Year: 2005

It's been a great tractor - minimal problems, mostly due to rough use. O-rings on the FEL control panel seem to blow out frequently under heavy use. Blinker switch panel shorted and melted, but those are minor issues. Have used for pushing brush piles, shredding (brush hogging), manure spreader, digging post holes and smoothing road with a blade. Would definitely recommend this for the type of use.

Pros: Good value, good reliability so far
Cons: Some parts are expensive

MAHINDRA3510 Mahindra
Great mechanically, amenities may need attention
Model Year: 2004

I bought my 2004 Mahindra 3510 12-speed forward/reverse geared tractor new in 2004. I believe it was manufactured by TYM, with a quick-disconnect ML-112e front end loader built by KMW. Other than fluids and filter (and fuel) I haven't had to do much mechanically with this little workhorse. Plan to buy your hydraulic filters from a dealer, as you probably won't find a cross-reference. Be advise the WIX cross-references are for an older version with the wrong filter. It starts every time and runs without complaint. The Nimco FEL valve is an earlier design that has since been redesigned to overcome the problems. It can be reworked, but the new design is a welcomed upgrade. I believe Mahindra replaced the valve in later models with a Prince valve. Even if you stripped this machine of all gauges, switches and non-essential wiring, this would make a strong, reliable machine. The wiring and switches have some known problems. Mostly a wire pinch spot or bad grounding location, which are documented along with the fixes on sites like www.tractorbynet.com I would consider most of these minor nuisances that wouldn't change my mind about buying this machine again. After all, this is a tractor, not a car. The components are exposed to the elements and some pretty harsh stresses and environmental conditions, so some of this can be expected. The loader is strong and with loaded tires and a 3pt implement as counterweights, this tractor can move dirt quickly. The loader can easily lift the back of the tractor. This model had a smaller hydraulic pump and at about 8gpm, it is still strong, but you'll want some rpms when working the loader to achieve acceptable working speeds. The 3pt doesn't seem to care about rpms, is responsive, smooth and strong. A dual range, switch actuated PTO has multiple settings to act as a live PTO running all the time, or as a standard runs-when-clutch-is-out mode. The same selector switch also has an off position, preventing the PTO from being engaged via the PTO button. Add to this a fold-down ROPS, R4 tires, draft control, a standard set of rear remotes (complete with its own lever), and an included rear work light and you have a real workhorse in this 3 cylinder diesel. The 35hp version delivers 29.5hp to the PTO to run even the most aggressive instruments, yet only sips the diesel while providing excellent torque. A canopy with mounted work lights, a hydraulic top link or hydraulic top-n-tilt, and Pat's Easy Change 3pt connectors are "essential" add-ons that compliment the usability of this versatile machine. You can find similar specs from competitors, but you'll probably pay more. Paying less for a comparable model usually means an off-brand compromise.

Pros: Strong, mechanically excellent, and reliable. Good size for trailering, yard work, or digging jobs
Cons: Paint fades quickly, electrical system could be better, finding hydraulic filters, parts can be hard to find
