9960 Issues

I'm on my second 9960. The first one had issues with wiring. I would shut off the tractor and it would not restart. It didn't have any power. The second one has power take-off shaft issues. I already broke 2 power take-off shafts. The dealer says the problem was with Cutter. I bought another Cutter and still have the same vibration issues. Now they want to check the tractor again. I have owned a total of 5 different Kubotas. All were good tractors. I traded up in size in time as I got more land. This 9960 is not the reliable Kubota that I expected.

This is the second tractor I've operated. My first was over 40 years ago, an old Allis Charmer. So I guess you could say that this is my first. I purchased it based on several recommendations from co workers. I have been impressed with everything about this monster.

Pros: Power to size and the enclosed cab.
Cons: Lack of a Kubota backhoe.

Kubota Didn't Do Their Job On This One

Tier 4 emissions are a pain. Uses a lot of fuel. Exterior lights on the cab make so much glare, you can't see at night. Hydraulics leak down. Winter time defroster can't keep the windows clear from the fog. Very disappointed.

I need to learn how to drive a real tractor now. Everthing on this tractor is great so far. Just need to get rid of an old Ford 8N now.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: None so far.
