L2500 Kubota
L2501 DT
Model Year: 2015

I purchased the newer model L2501 (this model is so new that there was no choice in the section here for the L2501, so I had to put in the L2500 to get this to post) this past April. I have been very pleased with this model as it provides plenty of power to use the front end loader with the 4x4 or just pull a bush hog/plow/disc around. This model, being at or under the 25 horsepower range, does not have the diesel particulate filter or a regen. I personally like this as it is one less thing to go wrong on these computerized machines. So far this has been a pleasant experience with the Kubota usage. I also have a 1952 Ford 8N, so I can compare the old with the new. I purchased the new Kubota from Capital Tractor in Montgomery, Alabama and it was an easy process. They are very helpful with any questions that I might have. I could probably use a larger tractor, but have been very satisfied with this one so far.

Pros: Ease of usage and reliabilty
Cons: No extra hyraulic outlet to add a toplink or grapple

L2500 Kubota
Great Little Tractor
Model Year: 1999

I looked at a lot of small tractors before buying this one. This tractor doesn't have a lot of fancy features, (it still requires the driver to shift gears) but that's what I wanted. The fewer things to go wrong. In the almost 7 years I've had it, I've done very little to it (a couple of hydraulic lines and seals). I use it for moving things with the front bucket and am sure I have gone way over it's rating many times. I have a bush hog type mower for it and a scrape, both work well. If I were going to mow many acres, I'd get a bigger tractor. It'been very reliable and overall a great tractor.

Pros: Very reliable.
Cons: Hard to get my big feet in place when I get on it (not much of a con).

Great tractor. Still has original battery. Starts at -25C no problem. Have built a wood chipper for 3 pt hitch and it is way quieter than the old one. Front tires are dealer only but not badly priced.

Pros: Reliable and cheap to run. Goes everywhere.
Cons: Would like it to be wider for side hilling.

L2500 Kubota
Perfect Sized Tractor for Food Plotting
Model Year: 0

I have an L2500 4wd DT w/loader that I run it through just about everything. Bush hogging, snowblowing, tiller, discing, planting, plowing along with any other task I can find an excuse to find seat time. The tractor goes off old and proven technology no push buttons on this thing. But with that being said it makes this thing about as rugged as tank. Somebody forgot to tell this tractor it is a 25hp because it doesn't act like one. Majority of my heavy load work (bush hogging/discing) is usually done in 6 or 7 the gear which is probably around 8mph with no stuggling at all. This tractor would be perfect if it had a live PTO or two stage clutch but unfortunately it doesn't. Snowblowing without live PTO is definitely a challenge and one reverse speed seems to slow and the other too fast. The tractor trailers well on a light duty 16' tandem axle landscape trailer and can easily be pulled by a 1/2 ton pickup. The L2500 has incredible fuel economy. All said this is a no fuss bare bones work tractor. 775 hours and the only problem is a front wheel seal that will leave a couple drip spot after a couple months. The implements I run behind it are 5' tiller, 5' snowblower, 5' backblade, 5' york rake, 2 bottom plow, 6' bush hog, 6 1/2' double gang disc, 8' seed drill, 2 row planter

Pros: Strong solid tractor that can still be readily pulled by a standard 1/2 ton pickup.
Cons: Lack of a live PTO.

After more than 10 years with NO problems at all, I wonder what I would have done without it. Other than fluid changes and paint I have done nothing to this tractor.

Pros: Starts every time for over 10 years.
Cons: As I get older, a bigger cockpit would be nice.

Happy Happy
Model Year: 1998

I bought my l 2500 4x4 with loader new in 98. I live in Alaska and never had a bit of trouble with it even at 30 below it starts. I bought a heavy duty Kubota back blade and a after market post hole digger. I have knocked down and pulled out roots of many trees, plowed driveways, built corrals, etc. I am now looking for a backhoe. this lil' tractor is just plain tuff---luv it.

Pros: Tuff.
Cons: Wish I had a front PTO.

It is a great little tractor which has always done the jobs I got it for. It pushes lots of snow with a 7.5' Meyers snow plow and no chains. I also use it to grade my road, move dirt , gravel, large rock, etc. Some of these jobs should have required a larger tractor but the 2500 did them just fine. I got a tractor this size because it will fit through the 7'X10' door in my heated basement shop. I call it the little tractor that can!

Pros: I have never had a problem with it (knock on wood)
Cons: It is difficult to get on/off with all of the shift levers & transmission.

L2500 Kubota
Kubota L2500, a Great All-Purpose Small Tractor
Model Year: 1989

We bought this tractor with 600 hrs on it for $7500. It has performed flawlessly since. We've drilled countless 12" diameter holes with a 3-point auger 3-4' deep for fencing, and tilled an acre or so with the 3-point tiller. One year, we tried making hay with it, running a 7' sickle-bar mower and then a New Holland 310 square baler. The baler recommended 40 hp but this little 25 hp tractor just buckled down and ran that baler fine, even though the baler weighed as much as the tractor. One thing I wish it had was hydraulic down-force on the 3-point hitch. When drilling for fence posts in hard ground, we have to add lots of weight to the auger.

Pros: Small, versatile, reliable, economical.
Cons: Not as strong as a big tractor, can only lift ~ 800 lbs in bucket.

L2500 Kubota
My First Kubota
Model Year: 1999

The L2500 is an excellent starter tractor. It is dependable, capable, and economical to run. My biggest complaint comes from it's economy status---it lacks a few features that I have come to expect and would prefer to have, like live PTO, more gauges instead of lights, and more room in the operator station. Aside from those forgivable omissions, I love it!

Pros: Small, economical, dependable.
Cons: Lack of user features.

My First Kubota
Model Year: 1999

The tractor is used for plowing, pushing snow, clearing property with the FEL, and maintaining my 10 acres. Since my previous experience with tractors has been with an old 1965 MF that my dad used for tobacco farming. I was pleased to have power steering and 4WD in a compact tractor. I found the Kubota to be dependable and efficient: It has done everything I asked of it and been fun to operate. My only gripe would be the result of having bought a "bargain" tractor - it lacks live PTO and some other common conveniences now found on many tractors. All in all, I love it, enough to have purchased a new BX1850 for mowing. I love that as well!

Pros: Small, easy to operate, fuel economy, & dependability.
Cons: No live PTO, weak for some applications.

L2500 Kubota
Good Basic Tractor
Model Year: 1999

I bought this tractor new and have loved it sense day one. It has done everything I have ask it to do. The motor makes good power and is holding up well. The is the equipment I use to keep up 22 acres of land. Cut grass, bush hog, plow, dig and everything else a tractor can do. I purchased this tractor over others in its HP range for the price, reputation and features. This tractor is "balanced" (physical size, power, tire sizes, steering, etc.) as well as any tractor I have ever been on.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Live PTO would be nice.
