L245 Kubota
Love My L245DT
Model Year: 0

This tractor has withstood and lot of abuse. I drive it up and down steep hills with a bush hog and it has never failed me. The only problem I have, and it's a big one, is that someone before me installed a power steering unit. Great, right? Well, the lines blew and no one has ever seen these types of fittings. I've had a couple of mechanics try to fix it using the existing lines and it's not worked. So now I have a great tractor that I can't drive because someone rigged a power steering unit on it incorrectly, in my opinion. If anyone knows where I can get a power steering unit for this, I'd be greatly appreciative. If not, I'll have to take it off and sell the tractor because I can't use one without power steering. But the tractor itself is a beast.

Pros: Dependable and tough.
Cons: Nothing related to stock items on the tractor.

L245DT: Great Tractor
Model Year: 1977

I was 13 when my family purchased the virtually new L245DT and it has worked and ran flawlessly since 1978. They are indestructible. Implements include a bucket, flail mower, rotory mower, and Kronovator rototiller. Although she's relegated to mowing the field a couple times a year, she's enjoying retirement with my father.

Pros: Great build quality, unstoppable, solid little tractor.
Cons: No power steering.

Tractor runs great. Sorry power steering wasn't an option back then. Loader hydraulics are okay, but has a very small pump, so loader works very slowly.

Pros: Very handy and great traction for a compact tractor.
Cons: Hydrauic speed, no power steering.

What a beast these L245DT's are, can't kill em!
Model Year: 1985

I have abused this tractor so bad if it was a horse it would roll over me and drop the 3 point weight box on my head for spite. Manual shift, grind it every time or wait forever and get nothing done. No power steering means the wifey gotta climb up & help me turn the wheel when the bucket is loaded. Have to wait three minutes for glow plugs, even in July, but it ALWAYS starts. No smoke, ever. Power like a bull on steroids, just won't quit. I love it when I get my money worth. I might even change the oil in a couple of years. Woods 1200 FEL, 3 point, home brew aux hydrcs, log splitter & tree grapple. No dealer involved ever so thats why the low dealer score.

Pros: Cheap, tough, powerful, runs a week on one tank
Cons: Butt ugly, hard ride, no hydrostatic pleasure, no air conditioner

Great tractor, abused it for the past 20 years. It smokes, has some blow by. The tach does not work. Leaks a little at the rear end and FEL. But it starts every time. I just put new glow plugs and belts. 3 batteries in 20 years. That is all of the problems i have had with it. I moved 52 tons of Pea Gravel this week for a friend. I just put it up for sale in the front yard. I'm considering a L2800 or a B2920.

Pros: Bulletproof
Cons: No ROPS

One of the oldest tractors here, I think. A pretty basic tractor, but it does just about everything I need in a tractor. I've added a 3-point Koyker backhoe, which has worked great for the past 6 years. Misc other implements, box blade, mower, tiller, 10KW generator, rake. I did have to replace the hydraulic control valve a couple hundred hours ago, mainly to add a 3rd port for a grapple.

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do.
Cons: It could use power steering.
