Deere 4320 w/400CX Loader
Model Year: 2007
Hi, I just joined this forum and was asked to review my tractor, so this is it. Y'all were a giant help when I was researching back in '07, but I didn't bother joining...so I figure this is the least I can do. In a nutshell, I can't say enough good things about this tractor. It's been absolutely perfect in all respects. I've read various problems that others have had, but I haven't had one yet. Due to health reasons, I haven't been out much this year, but I worked it pretty hard for 3 years--lots of plowing and loader work, and especially boxblading. I used a 7' KK boxblade to grade a pasture and create a 1/2 mile trail through a forest. Boxblading can be a heavy load on a tractor, and this one never had a problem. Using this tractor was a thrill, though a couple hidden roots and stumps jolted me back down to Earth! The dents in my garage will attest that the loader stretches out just a little more than it looks! I originally went in to buy a 5103 because I wanted the classic Deere 3 cylinder, but the dealer talked me into the ehydro on the 4230 since I was a rookie. That was a great call on his part and working this monster has been a piece of cake. I've maintained it as instructed, and never had even the slightest problem. It always starts first time, every time and has operated absolutely magnificently. I guess there's not much to add, since I can't think of a serious negative. It's been nothing but a pleasure, and has done everything asked of it with ease. If you can afford it (unlike me these days!), I strongly recommend it.
Pros: Power; Reliability; Ease of use; Good operators manual; Everything exactly as claimed.
Cons: The hook by the 3pt jammed against the implement, so I took it off. The rubber hydraulic lines were loose against the right tire, so I bungied them up away--both my kind of fixes!
