Model Year: 2007

Purchased knowing it had some engine problems. Found that dealer had re-ringed engine, but installed 77mm rings on 80mm bore engine. Installed correct rings, smoking/oil consumption ended. Charging problem, finally found it was missing ground strap for rectifier. I found out that some Kohlers came with plastic or steel engine shrouds. I have a 50" deck and a 42" 2-stage blower for this. Used blower for the first time; very happy with the distance it throws snow.

Pros: Good power and hydro drive system.
Cons: Cheap hood and hood mounting system.

Needs a Bit of Polish
Model Year: 2011

So far has proved to be a capable mower, however had to do my own pre-delivery on the machine as it was not set up properly. Now it runs and mows well, with only one small issue to resolve. Overall, pleased with the purchase.

Pros: Power.
Cons: Deck height.

GT2550 Cub Cadet
Typical GT2550
Model Year: 2009

Had to replace the oil drain tube right off the bat. Hood fell off at 15hrs. Seems pretty typical for the GT2550 of this year from what I read. Other then those two issue she's hums along pretty good mowes like a champ and never misses a beat. When I bought the mower I knew the drain plug would start leaking and I also knew of the hood issues with these cubs so there were no surprises. Still a good mower for the price.

Pros: Good reliable garden tractor.
Cons: Leaky drain tube from the factory, deficient hood mounts from factory.
