Love This Little Tractor
Model Year: 1961

Love the little diesel engine. It is a great lugger. The high and low transfer works smoothly and all gears shift as good as I could ever want. It shifts easily and with a solid strong feel. Love how strong the metal is that is used in building this tractor. I mean the PTO lever is such high tensile strength that I can't bend it with a lever bar to make the locking lug, cast in the side of the lever, seat better in its little detent in the side of the tractor. The three point and PTO work great. The brakes on mine need work so can't comment on their potential effectiveness. Two negatives are the lack of hydraulic connection, and the lack of a front weight rack. Awesome and tough little tractor.

Pros: Diesel runs like a clock.
Cons: No front weight rack, and no hydraulic connection.

Great Buy on a Small Farm Tractor with Solid Power

Tractor has good power for general needs. Had to repair PTO, fuel tank, injection pump. Hard starting when cold. Since the tractor is way past its day it is a good value. At some point it won't be worth the cost of repair. Looking for a parts tractor to keep repair money down. Great for cutting grass. Not the preferred shift for a lot of forward and reverse driving with a box blade.

Pros: Great power for value.
Cons: Parts not always easy to find.

1964 International B-414 Diesel

I use this tractor for 5 cord of fire wood with a logging winch, push snow in winter and cut grass in the field every year from 1999 to now. I keep it in my garage with a trickal charger on battery and winter I have a eating block with timer on it for easy start to plow snow. Got a front end loader a back scrape, logging winch, 6' boushhog,7' plow, 6' snow-blower and a homemade cabin.

Pros: Everything works great, starts right up with good battery and glow plugs, power steering, diesel.
Cons: Revers to fast to snow-blow.

I bought this tractor to do some grass topping. It has proved to be fairly reliable down the years, but is not what you would call a 'looker'. Normally, I start her up each year around Easter time to do some work, but this year, even though it was very cold in February, I thought I would make an earlier beginning. Unfortunately, tractor's engine appeared to have some kind of blockage and would not turn over on the starter, nor when I cranked by hand. This problem has righted itself now with the warmer weather. Very strange. Some issues at present with rims and tires at the rear. Punctures, so maintenance required. All in all, I am still very pleased with my buy and would recommend this tractor to others.

Pros: Generally reliable. Good lift on hydraulics still.
Cons: Needing time and money spending on it.

I bought this vintage tractor for grass topping and general use on a small farm. It's proved to be quite reliable over the years but is in no way what you could call a 'looker'. A workhorse. Few problems this year with refusing to start in very cold weather. Engine appeared to be seized but freed up by itself when weather warmer. Latest problem with rear wheel punctures. I should buy some new rims and tires, maybe. Brakes don't work properly and PTO difficult to engage, but not big issues. Had a quick look at fixing brakes but appeared too difficult to remove bolts. All in all, a good little vintage tractor.

Pros: Still works fine generally despite age.
Cons: Past her best.

I have been running my B414 for a couple of years. I live in the UK and it is/was a popular tractor here, being made here in its day. I notice no reviews or threads on this model so presumably there are no other owners registered, but I'll keep an eye open.

Pros: Solid.
Cons: Old.
