Not a Parade Tractor
Model Year: 1956

I bought my 1956 850 last year from a buddy who was moving out of the country. I don't mean he was moving to the city, I mean away from the USA. This is my first tractor, I never knew how much fun a tractor could be...sshh don't tell my wife she thinks I'm workin' out there. As for this Ford, currently the PTO is broken but I got it to plow/blade the garden and grade the driveway, which it dose very well. I found it good to drag downed trees. And when I run down the dirt road on my tractor it a great way to meet the neighbors since we are new to the area. When my father was a young man he worked for an IH dealer in Illinois, maybe I need a Farmall.

Pros: I does all the jobs I need it to right now.
Cons: PTO broken I have thought of somethings I could use the PTO for.

Money Pit?
Model Year: 1957

I resurrected this old Ford from an in-laws farm. It was neglected for years and was not running. I paid to have the cracked block welded and got cheated on that. Ended up using some kind of epoxy to slow the leak. Somehow this machine came to life and ran again. I recently flushed and sealed the gas tank, rebuilt the carburetor and changed the oil from the cartridge filter to a spin on. It has factory hydraulics that leaked like crazy until I had one rebuilt and tightened the other with a 3' pipe wrench. When it runs it is a wonderful helper. It is fun having a part of history in the yard.

Pros: Hydraulics.
Cons: Gas carburetor.

Bought this used locally to clear some land on my property. Came with a Pippin 116 backhoe and a Ford 19-97 loader. The Pippin works great but does have some leak issues at the controls. The 19-97 has no problems except I need to change the bucket to a wider one (which I got with it).

Pros: Starts right up, runs strong & cool
Cons: No P/S, Can't connect brake pedals
