71 Cub Cadet
A classic that will not die!
Model Year: 1966

Bought my model 71 cub cadet used in 1973. Cut lawns, plowed snow, and hauled firewood until 1999. Stored away in a shed since then....I cleaned the carburetor, bought a new battery, spark plug, air filter, changed the oil. Started right up and has been running fine since September. I love this machine! Planning to do a complete restoration this winter.

Pros: Reliable
Cons: None that i can see

71 Cub Cadet
Almost Finished!
Model Year: 1967

Mine was a barn find, half the stuff pirated off it, wrong parts retrofitted. The usual "bargain'---my first little tractor. I'm crazy about the old ones, made by International. The local Cadet folks here in Ashville have been very helpful. Salute to Sam and Ron at 4x4 Country. Found a hitch, good Brinly plow, cultivator, small disc set, garden wagon. Engine had to come out and apart--- governor was blown, replaced it. Deck still serviceable, getting it ready for spring and being able to sit down while mowing! I'm not restoring it, leaving much of its history. Just touch up here and there---can't wait.

Pros: Don't know yet, but will find out soon. Seen a few 71s doing their thing. Works for me!
Cons: See above.
