Ford 6640
Model Year: 1993
This is the lowest quality machine I have ever purchased. When I bought the tractor it had 6 hours on it. Virtually new. Within one year, paint was mostly off the hood. I've had the fuel tank off four times repairing it the cheap way - fittings are fitted into the tank. It still leaks. It loses prime all the time and must be constantly bled of air. The brakes have already totally failed. It does not have enough power to pull itself up a modest hill in road gear. The hydraulics are weak and slow, akin to an old David Brown we had. I would have been better off to have purchased a John Deere or Case-IH with 4000 hours on it rather than this heap. I always wondered why Fords were so cheap when compared with John Deere/Case/Agco - now I know. This reminds me of a Poulan chainsaw my grandfather once bought. It looks like a tractor, but it's not really a tractor. I will get rid of it the first chance I get and go back to John Deere or Case.
Pros: Handles nice when it's not broken down
Cons: It's always broken down in some way, shape, or form
