A Real Trouper
Model Year: 1986
I have had Simplicity 5216 w/hydrostatic transmission, 46" mower deck and bagger. I got it used when it was a year or two old so I have had it for about 26 years. It is rugged and reliable. It has only left me stuck for dead batteries and when the plastic gear on top of the stater motor wears out. Something that impressed me early on was when getting a replacement part, for example the deck left lever. Very often Simplicity had redesigned the part to be heavier and stronger than the original part. I jury rigged a ball hitch on the rear and I move a 4'x 6'x 4' trailer load of firewood around in the winter.
Pros: Reliable, strong, well fitting parts.
Cons: I wish it mowed the lawn with a cleaner cut.
