5105M John Deere
Wonderful Machine
Model Year: 2011

I have had several large Kubota tractors. I traded to the John Deere 5105M because of the cab noise. I am extremely impressed so far. The cab is much more comfortable. What noise the John Deere has in the cab is far more pleasant than the high pitch hydraulic whine of the Kubota. The John Deere horsepower seems much stronger than the Kubota of equal rating. The John Deere hydraulic system is very fast and very strong. Overall I wish I had purchased the 5105M a long time ago.

Pros: Awesome overall tractor, great cab
Cons: I would like a parking brake

Great Tractor
Model Year: 2011

This has been a nice tractor on my cattle farm. It works hard pulling a J.D 468 baler, 15' HD cutter, 33' gooseneck trailer with 22 bales of hay, etc. Very reliable...takes everything I've dished out without any issues.

Pros: I like everything about this tractor. Engine, transmission, cab, etc.
Cons: It does consume more fuel per hour at 21K RPMs than I like.

5105M John Deere
Good Tractor for PTO Work
Model Year: 2010

I've ran my 5015M on our 400 acre fruit farm for almost 5 years and can't praise this tractor enough. It starts good, runs day in and day out with nary a problem and works well running equipment on PTO.

Pros: Reliability, ease of use.
Cons: Move the dang speed shifter.

So far so good. I am very pleased with the power and overall performance. The 32 sp power reverser trans makes it very time efficient to operate. I bought the tractor new with a 563 loader with 4 in 1 bucket, a 10 ft mower and 8 foot hydraulic blade.

Pros: Very well made machine.
Cons: None.

5105M John Deere
After a Few Months of Use
Model Year: 2011

Great tractor! The tractor is used for hay and cattle feeding. The controls are well placed and clearly identified. The only control placement I would change would be the Hi/Lo switch location. It sometimes gets bumped with my knee. The tractor has plenty of power for ranching duties. The cab is roomy, the air seat is a MUST, the economy PTO is frequently used, the Hi/Lo on the 32/16 tranny is also used frequently. The air condition is exceptional. I was pleasantly pleased with how short the tractor will turn when maneuvering around the feed lot.

Pros: Controls are well placed; Economy PTO is great feature; Deluxe Cab with air seat.
Cons: The Hi/Lo switch gets bumped with operator's knee. Tractor would be rough riding without the air seat.

JD 5105M (2011)
Model Year: 2011

I only have used the tractor twice to remove snow and have been busy finishing a shed to keep it in. So far I like the fit and finish and the 32spd auto reverser transmission. Exhaust vibrates some at certain engine RPM's. Love the sound of the engine which is quite smooth for a 4 cyl. Will post updates as I put more hours on it. I am anxious to try out the econ PTO on my new 8' Land Pride Shredder this Spring. I have been around a lot of JD's in my life beginning with JD GP's, B's, A's, G's, D's, 60, 4010, 4020, 4450, and now the 5105M.

Pros: JD Green (just kidding), fit & finish, very quiet cab, auto reverser, smooth engine.
Cons: None so far.

Good quality tractor, has a lot of bells and whistles. However, it has been at the dealer for about 20 days total over 3 visits due to a fluid leak that the dealer could not find or fix. The tractor is due back from the last visit to the dealer on Tuesday Jan 10th, so hope for the best.

Pros: Lots of power, equipment, quality for lots of money.
Cons: So far 2 dealer recalls and a leak that the dealer can't find.
