My Ford 4000SU is a True Work Horse

I bought my Ford 4000su tractor with a lot of attachments: post hole digger, bush hog, lift, extension lift. This machine has never failed me. Expense is minimal. It's a 3 cylinder diesel that uses fuel like if the money was coming from its life blood. I have added 2 rear tires, 5 or 6 batteries and a fuel filter or two. This is the best investment I have made in years. You cannot get this tractor anymore but I would recommend to anyone that needs a medium sided tractor a Ford 4000su tractor.

Aint nothin wrong with old Blue .Still pulls a 3 bottom plow and a cultivator./

Good 'ol Ford 4000 SU

Tough little tractor. I bought it used with a Ford 740B loader. I have a Massey Ferguson 240 diesel as well. I like the Ford better now with gas engine for cold weather starting. It goes the first time even in 0 degree weather. The back end is a bit light when it gets icy or muddy. A set of chains took care of that though. It is worth the money. Mine was going for about $6k with the loader
Pros: Strong and well built.
Cons: Horizontal muffler get your feet really hot in warm weather.
