Hello all,
Im new to the site but have been trying to find a tractor for my property,it is three acres. Most of the property is hilly. I have never had a new style compact tractor. I worked on a ranch in FL where i used a JD4455 and a smaller ford tractor.
i have a garden now but would like to expaned it. along with that i have some grading work that needs done and a gravel road to maintian aprox. 300' total. Also plan on adding a garage to the property which will require a good amount of fill. Is the tractor is a good size for what I want to do with it? I plan on moving to a larger property in the future so i dont want to undersize my tractor.
I have seriously been looking at the B2320 and 2620. I was quoted 14,460 for a B2320 FEL HST. I think before tax. Is this quote resonable? That quote was via phone so I feel like I could maybe get a better quote if i went in and sat down with the guy.
Thanks for any input any of you tractor pros have.

I would suguest that you think more along the lines of the B2620, a few more HP, and the FEL the 364 is just a bit stronger than the 304. I am trying to get a B3200, but if it falls through, I will be getting either the B2620 or B2920.

I have a b2320 and i wish i had just a little more horsepower. I am very happy with it but there are a few times that i needed the extra power to move rocks or heavy loads. If you can swing it i would go bigger.

From what I can tell the frame of the Bxx20 series 23-29 are all the same. corect me if Im wrong? from what Ive read the price from a 2320 to a 2620 is only 1K or so... ill see what the dealer has to say about price on the B2620 the loader is prob. more as well.

I think the frame may be the same, but there are some dimension differences between the 2320 and 2620/2920. The 2620/2920 has another EDIT: 0.8 inches of clearance for instance (probably just tires).

But, the real difference between the 2320 and the 2620, besides the hp, is the FEL. The LA364 has more lifting power, and I think it has a bigger bucket.

I looked at all of them and ended up ordering a 2920, waiting on delivery.

Thank you for the clarification... I knew the loader was larger but perhaps the extra lifing cap. would be good! Im kinda leaning towards the 26 in that case. 750 bucks is a small price to pay for a little extra peice of mind.. thank you for your quick response....

For your present property the B2620 or B2920 will be fine, but how much bigger property are you going to be taking care of. Do not buy too small of a tractor just because it fits your present needs.

My choice in the B Series would be a B2630/3030 or the new replacement. I really like the added power, weight and position control 3-point hitch.

I bought the B2320 to replace a BX, which I was very happy with, but needed ground clearance. That's all. Wrote a lengthy review here:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../185147-bx1860-vx-b2320-contrast-compare.html

Hope it helps some.

The difference when I purchased last fall was $900 with tax. There will always be a larger tractor than the one purchased. Frankly, if I needed more than a B2320, I'd be looking at a B2630 for a lot of reasons.

BTW, the R4 tires and wheels are the same on all of the 20 series. Whoever has been led to believe a B2620 has 8" more of ground clearance has been misled badly. It is point 8 of an inch. when equipped with standard, Ag tires. When equipped with R4, they are all identical.

yup, that was me sorry. Brain fart.

I don't know why I said 8 inches, I've been planning garden plots all day and the ".8" on the glossy brochure in front of me translated into inches instead of tenths, probably because I have been looking at 100' rows on my garden plan :)

As noted, the tire sizes are different for AGs, which probably makes the dimensional differences. 2320 takes a 6-12 front and a 9.5-16 rear. 2620 takes a 7-12 front and a 11.2-16 rear.

With the AGs, the 2320 is 93.9 inches long vs 95.1 inches on the 2620
width is 45.1 inches on the 2320 vs. 49 inches on the 2620
clearance is 12 inches on the 2320 vs 12.8 inches on the 2620.

Tiny differences really.

When you go back to the dealer, just have him park a 2320 next to a 2620/2920. The loader difference will probably do it for you :)
