The planetary front drive gear was improperly machined from the factory, (Dealer name removed) refused to repair it. The power take-off switch needed replaced. You cannot start the tractor without it. The auxiliary hydraulic pump is now out. It will not start in cold weather without ether. The battery needed replaced the first winter.
I looked at John Deere, but they are also built in India. I got a lemon, pure and simple. Now I am paying more to keep the tractor than if I had purchased a more reliable brand. I will be looking to trade in as soon as the pump is fixed."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Does what I needed when not broken down or if I could get it startedCons: (Dealer name removed) will not back up their products at all, will never buy anotherType of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA OHI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
MF 2615L 4X4 - Good, solid tractor
Model year: 2012Date Purchased: 2013-06-29Number of Hours: 126
"I bought this tractor to replace a great little Ford 2600. Wanted a little more powerful tractor with quick attach loader. This is a very basic tractor - 4X4 with loader, 8X2 trans with live PTO.
I like this tractor very much with the exception of a couple of small non-mechanical matters. I had a problem with the aligning of the hood which Massey is quick to talk about it's convenience but not to quick to fix the problem. It took them 3 months and it still is not really fixed but much better that when I first got it. Very disappointing but my dealer is hanging in there and we continue the fight. The other issue is that it is kind of noisy - I think they could put a better muffler on it. This tractor is very heavy and everything on it is heavy gage metal - no plastic. I can lift a large round bale or grab a bucket full of dirt without a counter weight on the back which adds greatly to it's usability. The skid-steer loader attachment is fast and easy and the loader un-loads easily. This tractor is also very easy on fuel. "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Weight, power, tractability, great loader, fuel economyCons: Exhaust noise, hood fitmentType of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA TXI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS

"I bought this 6 years ago, from a dealer, new with a loader and a brush hog. It is a manual 4 speed with reverse, hi or low range. This year 2008 was in the group that the company knew had problems with the shifter!! And still would not fix it. The first time I had the problem, It hung up in gear 2 days after my warranty was expired and all the rubber on and around the motor was cracked like it was 100 years old. The gauges would not work until the tractor was warm if at all? The company AGCO would not fix anything but they give me all rubber hoses and a shifter with a square end instead of a round end. I would not buy a 2600 series. I am not happy with the tractor or AGCO I will never buys MF again!! "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: It work some of the time Cons: The rest of the time your trying to get the trans out of gear. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 AcresLocation: USA OKI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
Massey Ferguson 2615
Model year: 2010Date Purchased: 2010-03-15Number of Hours: 800
"I have always loved Massey Ferguson tractors which is why I bought the 2615. It's a two wheel drive 8x8 shuttle. I use this tractor to work hay pulling a square baler, 7-ft. Vermeer disc mower and 4x4 round baler. I added 500 lbs. of weight to the rear wheels plus fluid in all four tires because of steep ground. It's comfortable and durable. I had some electrical trouble early on but once fixed everything has done great."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Good heavy tractor for the size and very comfortable for long days of operations.Cons: Needs bigger fuel tank, I sometimes have to refuel before finishing out the day. Had to change muffler because the factory one was too loud.Type of User: Commercial FarmerLocation: USA VAI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS

"Let's face it---there are many good tractors on the market and sometimes it just comes down to what you like or what you are used to. I got such good service out of the first one (20 years with no problems) that it didn't make sense to buy anything else. I can't imagine how you could want any other. It has not given me a minutes trouble. It is very dependable and strong. They are almost 1000 pounds heavier than some of the other brands but this is an advantage for me. "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Strong, reliable, more for your money. Cons: 5 gallon fuel tank takes a little to get used to.Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA GAI also considered buying: Kubota M5400 REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
Problem With Pinion Gears

"I have had five pinion gear failures (this is what was told to me by dealer). The problem starts at 50 hours of use and has continued, the dealer keeps repairing but problem keeps popping up.
I contacted M.F. but only get the story that this is the first and only case they have heard of this problem. Well, I know they have heard of five cases now because I have the problem five times.
Could I just have a "lemon" tractor? Has anyone else had this problem?"
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Good performing tractor when not not out of service due to mechanical problem described.Cons: Too much downtime.Type of User:Location: USA ALI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
MF 2615 is Decent Tractor
by Eric Jewell
Model year: 2009Date Purchased: 2009-03-20Number of Hours: 185
"Bucket is slow to dump at times. A zerk fell out from one of loader arm pivot points and the access hole in the frame is too small to replace it. Some hoses are dry rotting before their time. It was difficult to get the transmission fill cap off due to close fit to gear shifter. This is a noisy machine with a lot of vibration.
However, I've satisfactorily used my machine for mowing, snow plowing, post hole digging, rotor-tiling, towing and scooping/loading."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Great traction and pulling power.Cons: The DL250 bucket thickness is underbuilt and the bucket hydraulics have some issue.Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA PAI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS

"We purchased a 2wd 2615 with 8x2 trans, DL210 loader, remote hydraulics that was a lease return back on May 28, 2012 with about 208hrs on it. We had over 25 to choose from at the time.
I only have one problem with mine and that is the power steering hose has a small leak that the dealer is working on and should not be a real problem. I had a great experience with my dealer, but for the others I cannot say the same. I had several that would not even come out to show the tractor and acted as if they did not care to do business with me.
I lucked up and found one that would and he gave me a hell of a deal. As far as the tractor and its performance goes, it has already past the old model 35 in the garden and became a real back saver with lifting bundles of shingles to the roof when doing a little patch work.
The only reason I gave the Build Quality a 4 was because of the power steering hose issue and that looks like it could have been caused by previous operator. "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Strong, great looking, weight, warranty, locking diff., remote hydro, loader.Cons: None that I can say other than watch out for some dealers.Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 AcresLocation: USA NCI also considered buying: Massey Ferguson 2615 REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
What Else Can Go Wrong?

"Bought the machine in Jan.12; had no snow since that date. Got a chance to work with it when mowing season started. This tractor is very heavy and requires more than a 48 horse power engine. It dogs going up moderate hills at mowing speeds.
The R4 rears provide limited grip on hills with wet grass. Since I bought it the following repairs have been made under warranty:
- New Battery
- New Ignition Switch
- Replace broken check chain bracket
- Adjust brakes for even braking force.
I am new to FELs but this one seems difficult to attach and detach. Hard to align pins and hard to attach hydraulics."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: It's a Massey. Good deal on price.Cons: Too heavy for the engine compared to my last 45 horse Massey utility tractor. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA MDI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS

"Overall, I am happy with the tractor. Had some hydraulic problems, bucket won't tilt down and hydraulic hook up box on back busted. Dealer fixed under warranty. I do think the Sammson motor is just a little louder than the old Perkins motors, could be quieter I think."
