"I have an L4600 with just over 300 hours.
Already I'm having engine troubles. It has no power and now the mechanic states that the fuel injectors are bad and need to be replaced. The mechanic states that with 300 hours the fuel injectors should not go bad this fast. "

"The L4600 is the only Kubota made in Thailand. Look at the tag on the motor block. When you buy a Japanese tractor, you expect certain things. This is the only one not made in Japan."

My 2nd Tractor, A Great Unit

"Bought a JD750 4WD new in '85. Now has 670 hrs. Recently retired and bought a 10 ac. property with lots a old hardwood.
First year, used the JD and it's decent, but would come close to tipping when hefting timbers. And the PH digger got stuck a few times when it didn't have the power to pull up. I was looking at Mahindra, Kioti, JD, MF, INHO, albeit uneducated, the Kubota was the best value and bang for the buck. I went with the 4WD and ag tires.
I have a set of Titan 42" forks w/QA; a boom, PH digger, 60" Gearmore rototiller, hiller/furrower, Ratchet Rake, 60" box blade.
Currently, I'm thinking the pallet forks are the MVP. I can quickly move and stack logs with out getting off. I use it to heft large boulders (over a ton ea.). Use the boom to rip out stumps.
This Kubota unit is pretty strong. So far, I'm happy with it."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Quick start, great "HPG" (hours per galllon), easy to drive, comfortable, strong.Cons: Only has step on it side. Joy stick kinda gets in the way when getting on/off the right side. I wish the stick was shorter and that each side had an assist handle and step.Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 AcresLocation: USA TNI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
Kubota L4600 HST - Great Tractor

"Bought this L4600 on the recommendation of a friend who uses and sells various models/brands of tractors, implements, and other farm supplies. It has been a great tractor!
We have hills and about 34 acres of pasture, 26 of which I bush hog, and the other 8 I finish mow. I am also expanding the pasture by clearing some brush fields that were allowed to grow on two hillsides. While I've had to replace various parts on both the brush hog and finish mower, the tractor has held up well.
While clearing heavy brush, some of the brush managed to rip the wiring from the switch which activates/deactivates the PTO, but that was an easy fix. Perhaps Kubota should consider a metal guard to protect this IMO "vulnerable" connection.
I am using the tractor more and more and often spend long days on it at present. Wish I had talked myself into a cab model with AC and heat and filtered air; but otherwise this tractor is great! I'm adding a third function hydraulic control to handle a grapple."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Strong, easy to use, and comfortable.Cons: Wish I had a cab.Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 AcresLocation: USA TNI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
Design Flaw in HST

"I absolutely love my L4600 HST. I bought the tractor mainly for moving and blowing snow around the Horse arena and hay barn. It has proven to be small enough to go anywhere and powerful enough to move anything I want to move with it.
The only reason I would give it 4 stars on the features is that the R/L brake pedals are right by the HST forward and backward pedal. When plowing snow I can't really put the tractor in cruise/set throttle mode as I am continually going back and forward. If I need to brake a sharp right or left turn you have to bring the left leg across to the far right, step on the left or right brake while pressing forward or backward on the HST pedal. This is very awkward. "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Handy, dependable, powerful.Cons: Right left brake too near HST pedal.Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA WII also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS

"Well made and designed almost perfect. I would add a guard rail on the left side of the drivers seat to keep from disengaging the transfer/range handle. Also, it would be nice to have two hooks on the outside of the FEL for light lifting. Also, a 5/16 hook on the inside of the bucket would be great."

Kubota L4600 HST---Great Machine

"Compact and powerful. You can obtain a Brown 416 bush hog (PTO has 38 hp, Brown 416 requires 30 hp) and go to town clearing LOTS of stuff you wouldn't think you would be able to.
Mine has the L764 loader option.
Just made a repair. The hydraulic filter extends out past the decking and i caught it on something. It broke the hydraulic filter bracket. Replacing it was fairly easy. I am building an armor plate to go extend underneath the filter to keep it from happening again."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Easy to use.Cons: Exposed hydraulic hoses and filter underneath right side needs armor.Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA FLI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS

"Bought the L4600 for an all around tractor and it has done well. I have used it like a dozer and cleared about 10 acres of heavy brush and trees. I was surprised at how big of a tree it would push over. Some close to 50 ft tall. I also plow, bush hog, and cut and bale hay with it. I also load 5x5 round bales 2 high on a goose neck trailer. It has been a good tractor considering what I put it through. "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Good all around tractor.Cons: Wish the shuttle shift was on the dash rather than beside the seat.Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 AcresLocation: USA KYI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
Review Kubota L4600

"Overall I am well pleased with this tractor. I haven't put many hours on it yet (less than 5 hours). It is 4x4 and has good excellent power for it's size. Lift height and ease of operation are good for the loader; it has plenty of PTO power to run a 6 foot shredder running at a nice speed, even with the hydro-static transmission. I was able to cut a 5 acre area in about half the time my old tractor could do it. the quick release features for the loader are great.
I hated to shell out the money for a new tractor right now but this Kubota seems to do everything I need done. I looked for about a year before I purchased, I narrowed it down between a John Deere, LS and the Kubota. I know, "LS?' but I test drove it and played with it a little and it is really a nice little tractor with a lot of nice little features.
In the end, I choose the Kubota base on reputation, reliability, power, weight, and tractor frame knowing my land. If you look at specs this Kubota isn't the heaviest tractor. To increase a weight I had them fill the back tires with cooling fluid. This extra weigh helps with traction and negates the need for extra weight in the rear when lifting heavy items with the loader (heavy round bales or big rocks."
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Good power, steering great, and very simple to operate.Cons: Haven't found any yet, but wish it had a visual loader level like LS.Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 AcresLocation: USA TXI also considered buying: John Deere 4435, LS Tractor R4041EZ REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
