"I have had it for 6 years now and used it for mowing trails, running moco, baling, front-end loading, moving snow, logging, etc on our 40 acres. It is a 4-wheel drive with a 12-speed shuttle transmission.
It starts well even in winter and is good on fuel. The seat is not designed for a 6'3" tall person. The QA loader seems strong, front end also, and I haven't broken it yet.
Open station model. "

Overheats In Ten Minutes
by Jeff Mass

"When the dealer tried to find out why it overheated, they couldn't. The company headquarters said they would not cover it under warranty because I should stop and clean the radiator every 3-5 hours, and since I didn't, there was dust on the radiator that made it overheat.
First of all, it overheated in 10 to 15 minutes. When the dealer told me what Kioti said, I told her I didn't want the tractor back. It only had 40 hours it. I told her to sell it for me. I lost 5,000 dollars taking them to small claims court.
Do yourself a favor. Buy anything but a Kioti."

Will Have to Live With It!

"A previous forum I was concerned by the air conditioner and it's lack of performance. Little did I know that would be the least of my worries. The dealership the tractor came from went out of business and I didn't have enough time to develop any kind of relationship with them.
So around 300 hours ago I was doing some cleaning up with my bucket loader and using my shuttle. Well, the loads were well in the limits but the shuttle decided to break. No rough-housing, just normal back and forth coming to complete stops. The fork fell down through the tranny causing thousands of dollars of damage.
We had lots of used tractors on the farm over the years M HS, MS, CAS, D15, but this never happened. It is all fixed now, but in the back of my mind it is that niggling doubt that the tranny could raise its ugly head again.
This model is a somewhat crude machine, much like the tools you would get at Harbor Freight. It is gets the job done, you just can't get a new replacement if it breaks. I might buy Kioti again depending on some type of long-term warranty, but I am going to have to keep this machine a long time to justify the thousands I spent on the repair. "
REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pros: Powerful beyond its size, great three point hitch system.Cons: Just not very well made. Even the front end loader is suspect.Type of User:Location: USA VAI also considered buying: REVIEWER'S PHOTOS
Wish I Had Bought Kubota
by Amber Bear

"I bought my DK50 new in 2002. I started out looking at Kubota, but the two dealers I visited were not interested in selling (or even speaking) to me. The Kioti dealer I did find was very small time and gave me no support after delivering to my ranch. It was not well. Set up and I discovered his 12 year old son had configured it.
After 290, hours the engine blew and as it was winter and I used it to clear access to my property, I needed it fixed pronto. I had to deal with the Kioti importer located on the east coast and was advised to pay for the engine to get it here in a reasonable time-frame. Approx. $5k, plus other charges. After replacing the engine and resolving my immediate concerns, I attempted to resolve the warranty coverage, they would not even return my calls. I should have sued, but had too much going on to devote the time to do it without paying lawyers to do it for me. I figured it would cost more than the cost of the new engine, so I ate it.
Next, one of the hydraulic actuator cables broke. I was informed the parts supply on the east coast was in the process of relocating and it took 3 months to get the new cable!
After finally receiving the new cable, I discovered one of the hydraulic cylinders had self-destructed, causing the cable to break in the first place. When I contacted Kioti, they told me I would have to purchase an entirely new hydraulic valve assembly for some huge amount of $ (thousand or thousands) as I recall.
Fortunately, I had a machine shop fabricate several out of stainless steel and not the lightweight junk that was original equipment. Cost under $100 for 6.
I ordered factory manuals. The ones I got do not match much of what my DK50 is. I was unable to get anything more suitable. Now my 4WD is out, but I think that is not the fault of Kioti. I will be pulling it apart myself and hope to add the outcome to this review.
I found myself taking things apart (instrument cluster, etc.) putting them in working order as they came from the dealer screwed up (or maybe from the factory, I just don't know).
I also own a Kubota excavator and found the quality, support and parts access far superior to Kioti, as I found another Kubota dealer who was excellent and discovered the other two dealers mentioned above were owned by the same guy."

Daedong EX50 Tractor
by Doug Proctor
Model year: 2009Date Purchased: 2009-02-02Number of Hours: 99
"I purchased a Daedong EX50 Tractor with a 4 in 1 bucket about 2 years ago that has now done 99 hours. At the time of purchase it appeared to be the best value tractor in the 50 hp range on the market in Australia and to date it has performed very well.
The first day I got the tractor, I did bend the blade part of the bucket while trying to remove a stump. I had it in 4wd first gear and the stump was clamped in the teeth of the bucket, and was shaking the stump to in an attempt to break the roots.
I had done the same on several smaller stumps with no problems. I am used to operating larger machines and bull dozers that are virtually unbreakable and I just assumed the Daedong would be the same.
Now that I know it's limitations, I find I can do anything required. In 4wd, the tractor will go virtually anywhere and with the 4 in 1 bucket it is a very handy machine. It is smaller and more maneuverable than the other 50hp tractors I checked. So it's excellent for working in confined spaces. "

"I have 5 tractors now and have had many others. I really like this tractor. The hystat is very good but a little slow on response from forward to reverse. Cab will freeze a person out, even on a 98 degree day never turned the fan to high. I recently finished 50 hour service and am very impressed with the overall experience I have had with this tractor. I would strongly suggest a Kioti to a friend."

"Great tractor. I like all the leg room. The loader is a breeze to take off and on. It starts and runs great. I tried the Massey 1655 and 1648. I felt the Kioti was better built and just a beefier tractor. "
