My friend's wife almost did years ago, she was frying something and got called away for something. The kitchen was starting to burn when her husband grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out. It made national news back in 1981... the day before she was in the store with her daughter, who had just learned about fire prevention week. The kid said "Mommy, teacher says we should have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen", so she bought one.
