My wife, aka "the boss", hauls plants, potting soil, shovels, rakes, hoses and the like around our 7.5 acre property 2-3 weekends of the month as we slowly landscape our retirement setting. By Sunday afternoon, she's dog tired. So am I, but I've seat time on a tractor to break up the real work of chain sawing, chipping/shredding and the like. So, for Christmas (and when I had her convinced I was buying an widescreen HDTV), I purchased a used golf cart. Learned a bit in the exercise - like you want a cart from "up north", so it's only been run on golf courses during the summer, not all year as in my state of South Carolina, and like you NEVER want a cart from an ocean front golf course (i.e., rust). Anyhow, a fold down rear seat allows construction of a box for stuff. See attached.
Yup, she's real happy (even hauls the old dog around with her - a real dog, not me).

And, finally, the box removed and the cart now a 4 person carrier (as in our weekend guests around the property, with drinks).

There you go!!
Congrats on your new toy/tool (she can decide) and pulling off a surprise for Christmas.

It looks like there's a ball on the back for a trailer. If so, a small trailer could be handy. Leave all the tools in there so you don't have to empty the box.

Cisco, nice transporter! You really treat your guest right with the extra seat. In Texas we just let down the tail gate and tell them to jump in the back. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Excellent! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Now all you have to do is have your wife give it a name! Just make sure that she knows that FunBuggy is already taken! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That was an excellent gift. Before my father in law passed away he modified their cart so that my mother in law could carry gardening tools etc. Is it a Par Cart?

I was given a '73 Harley Davidson electric cart that didn't run along with a wiring schematic. Turns out the schematic went to a different cart and after rewiring it correctly it runs like a bandit. My kids absolutely love it.

Don, I'm not sure if the guys in other parts of the country realize just how true that statement is. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I didn't appreciate that my "kids" (21 and 18) would enjoy the cart - but seems everyone but me is driving it around. Kind of neat to circulate around one's property without a bunch of noise to disturb wildlife - but the reason I went electric and not gas was oil changes, spark plugs, keeping gas fresh, etc. - if you obtain a battery maintainer (not the usual, and needed, charger, which recharges your battery to full, cuts off, and 2 months later the batteries are dead and the "charger" never turns on again) and plug it in when gone for 4-6 months, as over a winter season; the batteries are fresh and happy when you return.
The "lift kit" gets you about 8" ground clearance, instead of the usual 4-5 inches, and if your property is as untamed as some of mine, it's a good idea. Sure, the tractor can haul out your cart, but -----
Question re. hitch - it's a 1 7/8" ball to fit the trailer for my 13 foot Whaler creek/lake skiff, and the cart hauls around the boat and trailer just fine, at least over flat ground.

Nice looking cart. Did it come with a loader and backhoe attachment? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
