why do you own a tractor? how does it save you $$

you can never have too many tractors, bulldozers, backhoes and other related equipment. not only are they handy too do a lot of projects and make a little side money but they're fun to fix up. some times on a cold windy day when i don't feel like going outside i just look out the window at my equipment and remember what they looked like when i bought them and how much i have improved them. i agree with all the things everyone else says they're good therapy. your friends are just jealous. if you have worked and earned the money you don't have to justify to any one what you buy. i like tractors and equipment better than new vehicles because they hold their value better and can do more things. just my opinion.

My main answer to folks who question: It's my bass boat.

However, the primary function at my place, it's my lawn mower for 4 acres of yard. But, I also move logs, grade gavel drive, dirt work, work platform with lift, tow trailers, brush hog, etc.

I have some folks I go do work for to help them out from time to time. When they try to pay me or go on about how they couldn't have managed without my help, I say thanks and try to smooth it over by saying something like, "no need to go on, or to pay me. Thanks for letting me use my bass boat at your lake. "
