Where can you buy ammo?

What is considered a good price? Just curious.

$4.50-$5.00 for a box of 25 12GA #8 shot (Heavy Dove). currently best I've found locally is 7.00 a box of 25.

I just now ordered online from bulkammo. $1/each which is ok. 12ga 00 to me is so versatile. We have groundhogs for example and at about 30 to 50ft I'll just shoot from the hip. I've never missed, they never know what happened with 00. Thanks so much!

I have no shotgun, so I was curious as to prices. I remember the .22 fiasco a while back. I have 4 .22 firearms and a few others. I just keep enough to target practice.... for a few years. ;)

I like ammoseek.com select caliber and it値l show you all the sites that are cheapest per round. But right now prices are way up, 9mm went from .18/round to .70/round.

ammoseek is always my first pass. They don't always have the latest specials, but I doubt there are any specials this week ;-)

10ga OO ? If you find anyone with any, buy it. I doubt there is sales pressure. but there will be market excitement. Pay to Play!

I have to drive into Spokane( 24 miles ) to get any kind of ammo. I would guess OO 12 gauge would not be a difficult find. 10 gauge would probably be pretty limited. Around here 10 gauge is a "goose gun" - probably #4 shot would be available.

My home defense gun - 12 gauge pump with #2 shot. It's kind of a joke. 38+ years out here and if I didn't shoot a duck now and then - the shotgun would never get used. I guess that's a good thing though.

There are more than a dozen places that will sell ammo in Spokane. Show you how much I shoot. Still have two 500 ct cubes of 22. Each still have the price tag on them - $6.79. Much longer and I will be able to sell this stuff as - "antique". I still have several boxes of "Peters" 22 ammo. Comes in a forrest green box with yellow lettering.

I'd probably pee my shorts if I checked the local price of ammo now.

I shot 50 rounds of 22lr today. I felt like I was burning money. But feel good about the target! ;-)

Now is NOT the time to be buying ammo. Now is the time to be selling ammo at high prices to make money. The time to be buying ammo was after jan 20 2017 until about Febuary of this year. Now is NOT the time. You must keep an ear to the political ground to understand when to buy and when to sell firearms and ammo.

Bamn! If I had any money, I would buy ammo ;-)

Sell ammo? Nothing but regrets!

I use 12 ga high brass #5's (my pheasant loads) for any varmints up to 'coon and skunk out to 30-50 yards. Turns them off like a switch. Using 00 buck for that is a complete waste, patterns terrible, and spends high dollar ammo for no purpose. Plus pheasant loads are at least easy (around here) to find in the store.

Agree!!! We use buckshot for coyotes and I buy cases of it for the locals when it goes on sale at Midway. 250 rounds of S&B 00 for $90 or so. It used to go on sales about twice a year. I reload and have a mold to make buckshot but will not bother if I can buy it for less than $.40/shot.

Buying anything now will force you to pay top dollar. I reload so I am not affected. But components can be difficult to get so it may not be much of an option right now. Best to think about reloading when things get back to a more normal state and plan for the next shortage. I reload for every rifle, pistol and shotgun I have.
