i guess the wheel horse is close to a compact tractor, maybe close enough. i need a new tie-rod for a 1981, 12 hp lawn tractor, the one thats on the drivers side, or would be if it were a car..anyone have any idea where to get parts for these things, i'm not sure they are still being made??

It should be a standard industrial tie rod end, available from a bearing supply house.
Might be available from Grainger or McMaster Carr.

I just got around to read your post, Heehaw, so maybe by now you have your part. I have had 2 Wheel Horse tractors - the first a 1964 and a new one in 1992. I have been able to pick up just about any part for either tractor at a Toro/Wheel Horse dealer nearby. I replaced several tie rod and drag link ends on the old tractor a number of years ago, and they always had them. I haven't needed parts since I bought the new one. Maybe things have changed since Toro took over, but I hope not.

i ended up getting the part at a local independent repair shop. i keep hearing about folks finding parts etc cheaper on the net, so i thought i'd try again..but local ended up being the easiest and the best price..
thanks
