 If 5% of what one hears about them is true, it is a place I don't want to frequent. 
If that is what you truely went by, you wouldn't be doing business with an large company. Wal-Mart has been pick-out by you just like it has by so many others.

I agree completely. Wally World is an OPEN TARGET..mainly because they are LARGE..and EVERYWHERE! Some may not like their business practices?? Fine..shop elsewhere then. Im sure WW is going to "cash it in" because they dont get your money! I also dont believe..whether is was ACTUALLY said or not..that they only make 3%...and hence have to steal pencils..etc. They couldnt survive at 3% level....and they DEFINATELY are doing more than surviving.

The oil I finally setteled on to use in my B3030...WW sells for $21.95. TSC ..a mile closer to home...sells the same stuff at $18.95! Go figure.

One of the things that really PI**ES people off is that WW only hires ( basically) part time employees..so they dont have to pay so much and dont GIVE them some GREAT health plan...so? They can go to work somewhee else! And anyone ever heard of SEARS?? Theyve done the exact same thing for YEARS!!!

As long as WW gives me a quality product ( sometimes they do..sometimes it isnt) for a good price ( sometimes it is..sometimes it isnt so good)...I dont care if "it" is made by "Martian prostitutes"...living in mud huts on the backside of the moon...

Having worked for WM several years ago, as a FULL TIME employee with benifits, and in s job which I commonly traveled I must say this thread makes me laugh. They were excellent to me, paid me a better wage then other companies in the Pgh Area, paid my meals on the road, and NEVER asked me to steal pens or paper. Also we did have long distance in all the offices and I made a lot of calls and never needed called collect. Hope this helps clear the air. I am not saying they always have the best price but it is mostly decent and it is handy to get my food, oil and a new plant for the yard in one location. If that costs me an extra dollar it is worth it to me to save time and even more than a dollar in gas I would use running all over for these items....

If that is true, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. If things are tight enough that free ink pens make a difference in the bottom line, then think how much money could be saved by simply not taking the trip in the first place. From what I've seen, MOST (I'd estimate 80%) corporate travel is a total waste of money. Sure, you got a free 10-cent Bic pen--what about the money from airline tickets, hotel rooms, per diem, lost time, etc? We figure a two day trip to anywhere starts at about $1000...not including the employee's wages. If they bring back two pens....Wow. That'll balance out.

Then there is the issue of corporate counter-measures. Once Conrad Hilton learns WM is stealing his pens, he might send his employees to eat all the free food samples at Sam's.

No problem RidgeRunner. I just wanted to point out that there is a LOT of "tails" out there and some are really far from the truth. I shop there because it is close and they have a lot of things I use. I wish I did have a TSC close and some other stores but as you know we don't have stores on every block in these parts /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
